141 Is it really Too short?

I want an 89" track with 5" lugs and a propane turbo pumping out 400 horsepower with a 2 speed chaincase :)

I'll put it this way .... I got my *** handed to me in some really nice deep snow in west yellowstone last spring by a professional guide riding a 146" Summit 800 .... and I was on my Turbo M8 162" .... Given the guy is a professional guide that knew the area and rides half the year, but the moral of the story is, if you know what you're doing you don't have to have a massive track to be effective at riding powder .... just need to generally speaking be (or become) a better rider and move more quickly with a shorter track in deep snow than a longer one.

But, with that said, I would say you'd also want least 2" lugs on that 141 .... the 1.25" lugs might not cut it in the deep stuff, idk.

Was his name Taylor? :face-icon-small-win

btw... a 146 doo has more surface area than a 153 cat. a 146 doo isn't any kind of handicap, it's a very capable machine. More float, but less track length getting in the way of nailing tight lines/ turns.

If you like dick

I think what my esteemed short tracked colleague is attempting to say is that it's only too short if you're a talentless hack that needs to go learn to ride a sled instead of buying some sally long track to make up for your lack of ability.

But I could have misheard him...:face-icon-small-sho

Haha it's always funny to see how far off topic these threads get. I for one really like my skidoo 146". There have been several times where a longer track would have been really handy, but so would having an turboed sled.

Since I no longer have stickers on my sled, people have asked me what track length I have and are amazed how well it does in the steep and deep. A shorter track might possibly make you a better rider.....

You will be fine. Do get at least a 2" paddle. BCIL can ride the hell out of a shorter track but he's 5' tall and has to make up for his other shortcomings. ;)

ahahahahahhaahhahahahaa Went from a 166 to a 146 and would never look back. I think its perfect. Only thing i want now is boost but ill have to stick it out another year on the NA 8

I'm with BCIL. Shorter tracks are more fun, more agile. My next sled is going to have a 146 which is a 153 on a AC or any 15" wide track in that length. Beside the uber deep days a shorter track is more fun in my opinion.

I should offer up that one of the best riders in the United States (better than ANY of the individual riders posted who up here thus far, take that sucka's;) myself included by far) mentioned he would primarily be riding a sled longer than 155" again this season...
[ + Skilz = shorter Trax? ] Maybe not...
