14 pro bully dog silber bogging

Bogging issues

Even though I don't have a Silber turbo on my Boondocker turbo I have been having a bog issue as well. One thing that seems to have help is I changed out the EV springs out to a heavier spring ( 7041786--08 GREEN/YELLOW 8.0 10.0 2.400 .049 ). So far it has cleaned up my bog issue up to about 8# . Higher then 10# its there occasionally. So its getting better . I'm going to try a 7041786--11 PINK/YELLOW 9.0 11.5 2.323 .051 to see if it helps out with higher boost levels. Don't know if this will work on others sleds with turbos who are having bog issues or not but It may help.

Awesome Thanks Brian,
I will give that a shot also

I would hold off troubleshooting these for a bit. I am going out with a problem sled tomorrow and will report back. I am testing a map that is a little leaner to see if the issue clears up.

Right on buddy! I'm headed out as well tomorrow to see if new exhaust valve gaskets do anything for me. One was the wrong style and it burned out the side and was leaking. Who knew, I thought exhaust valve gaskets were exhaust valve gaskets.......

No difference. Same bog and goat, different day. Bummer. Hope you come up with something Cory cause I'm stumped.

I have the intermittent bog/hesitation issue with the bully dog aswell. Only been riding 4500-6500 feet, noticed it only happens when coolant temps are above 131 deg f. Happens more often if hotter. Only happens during throttle movement. Seems like the tps rate of movement vs temp fuel enrichment is to high, or the coolant temp fuel compensation is too high as temps increase. Provided these are option for tuning with bully dog software. I checked and tried everything on this forum. Lightening up the heel on the primary so it revs to 8400-8500 rpm helped noticeably and made it pull harder up to 30 mph, it was set to 8150 before that. Hope this helps.

If your having the goat issue I found cleaning, lightly lubricating and stretching the spring in the blow off valve fixed that on my kit last year.

We met up with 2 folks having problems this weekend and ended up with mixed results. One sled was goating like the video's and it turned out to be a broken Primary spring and his PV's were not consistently opening. Once he cleans the valves we will continue to drill into his issues. The other sled was a 14 and did not goat at all. It did act similar up a long pull to some of the videos where it appears to hit the rev limiter when on and off throttle under high load. We took some datalogs and are working towards a resolution.

What did you experience with the leaner tune?
Thanks for your help.

Any progress with the bog issue?
I was out for the last 4 days riding in Sicamous, first two days no issue, turned the boost up to 10 lbs with 75/25 av/91 at 6-7000 ft and the mid range bog came back especially on long pulls... Not what i wanted climbing a tight chute. Turned the boost back to 8 lbs and it happened still just not as often.

Brought the sled in the shop to triple check everything, clutch springs fine, reeds fine, spark plug color was good on the hill, no boost leaks, nothing in the intake, all bolts double checked and all good, no wires rubbing anywhere, injectors in correctly, exhaust valves clean, good fuel, also tried 50/50 and 60/40 tanks with no difference over the last while.

Hopefully you guys have a tune written soon to cure this issue!

We are getting there. We will be headed out again this weekend. The symptoms you describe are also what I am seeing. I will let you guys know as soon as we get it isolated.

Ok, thanks for your work on this issue for those of us that aren't running right. If this gets worked out, I will have the best running turbo sled that I have ever owned.

Do we have and ETA for this new map? Have a big trip planned first week of Feburary, it would be great to have WOT for more than 20-30 seconds without the bog. I have to say mine runs a little better at 10-11psi but really want to run around 8psi.

Ran my sled pretty hard at times yesterday. I notice on the trail the sled runs like a raped ape. Blurps out at full speed/throttle but it could be over revving (hard to see when you are moving that fast!).

Still see the problem when I'm in a hard climb and let off the throttle. The backshift seems like the time when the bog comes on hard. Still sounds like too much fuel to me.

I have not tried new plugs. I think I'll try some iridium plugs.

Maybe I just masked the bog problem, but by doing a few things I have elemenated 99.9 % of it. (I am running a 3" 162 track)... I put in a 180/300 secondary spring, running on the 42/46 angle helix, with Toms belt drive I was able to gear down to 2.37, and running 76 grams of pri weight when running at 7,000 ft and above. I run mostly between 8 an 9# boost. I have several rides on it after these changes and it was a great improvement. Sometimes on a long pull it will miss a little, a throttle flip or two and it goes away. Very happy it pulls hard from start to finish.

Im using the iridium plugs gapped to 18 so a .020 fits tight. I dont understand why its taking so long this has been an issue for more than a month. 1/3 of the riding season. Come on guys whats the word are you working on it as we speak or when is the testing going to begin> I am sure many people have trips planned and want this fixed so we dont have to deal with this and end up in a bad situation. ETA????

We are working on it this week. We have made some progress but chasing down issues that effect a small percentage of sleds is tough. We are holed up at the hotel reviewing datalogs from multiple sleds today looking for some commonality.

Some of the issues are under heavy load and today is the first time we had anything other than ice to ride on. We are here doing our best....now do your snow dance so we can get this resolved quicker.

Looks like your going to be in the deep in the next 36 hours if your where I think you are. Did Justin bring along the new Oiless Turbo as well for testing?

You gotta be safe. Hope it clears up for you in the next day or 2 so you can get to the bottom of this. I leave next Friday for Togwotee, hope its all good by then.

boy sure happy with the dobex box runs good at least I can push buttons and make it run, not go back to the shop and hook it up to a laptop to see what it is doing. Sorry but never been impressed with Bullydog been selling them for years for trucks and there customer service sucks and don't think it would be much better in the sled world.
