13 Pro vs 13 XM

I can see preferring one brand over another but the pro feeling like a tank absolutely dumbfounds me:face-icon-small-con

My wife absolutely hates my 13 pro. She thinks it feels like a tank. She loves her 12. I am sure it just wasn't set up right for him and the xm's feel effortless in the right snow.
As far as the video goes I have seen the exact opposite. I borrowed a buddy's xm and put 10 feet on my buddy's 13 pro in the trees. We drag raced them up an open hill and the xm won 2 out of three. It just depended on how they came out of the hole. They were pretty close in that aspect. Which forum does that put me in since I have a pro and loved the xm?

Yyeaahh...me too. The Pro is the lightest and most flickable. Yeah - I said it.:face-icon-small-ton

What model of Cat is that fighting for 2nd place??:face-icon-small-sho

The cat is a 1100 with a big chute 250 kit. He was just messing around. It's the same sled I was climbing with in the other vid I posted. That thing rips...wouldn't even be close.

I'm beginning to wonder if the pro is a platform for more advanced riders... Take the Snowest deep powder challenge for example, Group 1 (the group with little experience) picked the doo in most categories while group 3 (the most experienced group) picked cat or polaris in almost every category... If my theory is correct where does that leave the snowest staffers that picked doo as the winner? lol

OK tuff guy, run your suck online.....always gota b 1 Dbag in a thread. And your it

Hmmm, well if the Pro feels like a tank to you, ummm ya you cant ride..Just saying, no need to get ur panties in a bunch. :face-icon-small-win No wonders your trying to find new riding buddies.:face-icon-small-hap

Thats great, you do know there is a Doo section to the forum?

Actually I was wondering if you could point in the direction of the forum solely dedicated to the junk azz doo drivetrain, oh wait....

I thought the vid was pretty good, awesome editing skills. Couldn't even see where they had to stop filming and cut back in when they swapped out the broken QD belt.

Hahaha....well I guess if that's the case we're lucky the doo didn't start on fire between races. Hahaha.

Ha no feelings hurt here bro but thanks for the second bad post rating.

Anyways for the advertised hp difference is the poo chassis/drivetrain that much more efficient? 20hp you prolly wouldn't notice in a car but on sleds you would think it would be huge. Just has me thinking cause the poo was straight walkin the doo.

Like I stated and you keep proving...............your a Dbag.

You must be a professional......

Unfortunately this thread has turned to crap because of kids like you and there is no real usefull info here. Of course there are a few of us that would like to continue to put you in your immature place but we have better things to do. I apologize to the people who have read this trying to get usefull information.

It is common knowledge that the pros ARE NOT RELIABLE! nothing has changed under Polaris's hood since 03, if you can't understand that the e tec is the most revolutionary two stroke motor ever, then you are living under a rock. with that said they have a very capable chassis in the pro ride, they are just waiting for the patent to come off and they will say they have the best thing ever when actually it is old news cuz doo will have e tec II which will make Polaris's "new" tech yesterdays news.

P.S. how many Ski Doo "Fix Kits" have you read about?:face-icon-small-sho

It's common knowledge that doos DONT HANDLE! Nothing has changed with them except for a floppy suspension and a flexi track. By the time doo catches up with the pro chassis it wont matter because poo will have the Pro II chassis.:face-icon-small-sho lol

Agreed agreed agreed, I don't know why people can't figure this out yet... Every time I ride my pro I get to be a better rider. I feel like the pro has has endless capabilities, the better you are the better it performs.

I own both and I know which one I ride and which one my wife rides

Whoever said the Pro feels like a tank should have there posting privileges taken away.... Dumbest thing I have ever heard

Doo comes out with Tmotion and flexi track and it handles extremely well and Poo riders bash it yet how many have broken.....

Poo adds someone else's technology in the belt drive and lots of glue and it's revolutionary........and unreliable.

I am no longer brand loyal having blown 2 Polaris motors . I have been doing lots of reading about the Pro and XM issues, thing is there are a couple of threads on Doo problems and a hell of a lot more on Pros. That cannot be denied by anyone.I'm not talking crap about any brand I simply stated what I thought on 2 all day demo rides and the brand loyalists get all offended. People are actually researching online to help them make informed decisions on a sled purchase and some off us try to help those folks out with honest info. so for what its wortheveryone that I rode with on the demo days including Pro owners said that the XM was much more maneuverable felt more powerful and lighter than the Pro. If that makes us all crappy riders in Pro owners eyes thats ridiculous. I guess if I decide to buy XM I'll be fine with the #2 flickable sled and #1 most reliable.

Dude, your in the polaris section on a ''goof'' thread that has a video of mountain sleds drag racing where you try and tell everybody the xm is the best and the pro feels like a tank and now your turning it into a unreliable vs reliable topic... Ya, I have no idea why your getting some backlash and this isn't the best thread for people to use to make informed decisions on:face-icon-small-con

Over my 14 years of riding the backcountry, I have seen as many broken and towed out Ski Doos as I have Polaris sleds. I don't worry about it too much. One of my young riding friends has had Polaris, Ski Doo and Yamaha (boosted) sleds. He has broken every one of them multiple times until last year when his 12 Pro went the entire season without a problem. he now has a 13 Pro and he has had no problems. He rides as hard or harder than he did when he was breaking the earlier model sleds. Are the Polaris Pros perfect? No. Are the Ski Doos perfect? No.

A few examples of his Doo experience on one Rev and two XPs: Multiple blown engines, multiple clutch problems, driveshaft sheared off at the primary (That one was nasty getting out), and so on. So what. He also had multiple problems with his Polaris sleds including a blown engine on his 11 Pro. If it is going to break, he will break it. Therefore, the fact that he made an entire season on his 12 Pro and it is looking good for his 13 Pro speaks volumes for the improvements that Polaris has made in overall reliability.

I have not had a chance to ride a 13 XM. i have heard good things about them though. However, to me they look too wide (like a Yamaha). I have also heard about trenching, washing out, etc. Someone in an earlier reply stated that the Pro is like a steak knife in technical, bumpy, tracked up sidehills. I think that is a correct evaluation. I don't think any of the other sleds will handle those conditions as aptly as a Pro based on my on the hill observations. Maybe I will change my mind when I ride the other brands versus just observing and comparing them on the hill.
