Hey guys just wanna try something new, we got a 13 traded in. was thinking about putting the lighter crank in it and what else would you do. think it would work the the slp stage 4 kit?

sleds

I was gonna do a big bore then talked to people that have the stage 4 kit and happy with it, so I thought maybee with that crank it would help a lot.

Those race cranks have a very short life span. I see issues with putting it in the new engine that I hope they figure out before a full production run and use us as test monkeys. Again...

In terms of percentages how much lighter is this crank than the original? For instance a 2lb weight reduction off of a 10lb crank would concern me more than a 2lb reduction off of 20lb crank.

Curious what your basis is for your commentary?

I have heard the opposite, that a few of the race teams have been using them for three seasons with zero issues.

Just curious, and seeking more info. As I'm temped to do a few long rods with the new lighter crank. Due to the faster acceleration and less gyro effect. You should be able to have an 800 or bigger that is light and nimble like a 600 is.

they are having issues i'm not at liberty to discuss right now...all i can tell you they are working on it at a fever pitch. they were told to drop everything to look into and fix the issue. dont panic just yet... :face-icon-small-hap

I call BS and think this is just a pot stirring remark... I highly doubt you have any knowledge on this matter.

I have worked in the motorsports industry for 30 years and own my own shop. Not like that means anything...lol I have my connections..

I don't doubt your experience with sleds I just highly doubt your remarks on lightweight crank. A lot more good if any bad being reported about this crank so again doubtful you have any insider information on this matter.

I have been riding with guys who have the lightweight (H.O.) crank in a 2015 demo RMK Pro 155. The sled rips. It has a stock muffler but it definitely sounds different too. It will definitely pull a comparable sled with the stock crank. I cannot speak to longevity but it runs like a mod sled with the only mod being the crank.

The 2014 IQR light weight crank the 2015 800 HO (AXYS) LW crank have different part numbers.... HMMM...

.

I built a 13 engine with the light weight crank and a fixit kit on it. After break in I started to push it a little bit...going to need to add a little heavier weights as I was over reving with my 155x3"...did the break in rides in mid April and then have been on the road for work since :( can't wait for next season!

Yep... new LW crank still has water pump...

Also... the IQR LW crank is on a sled with NO oil pump whatsoever.... premix.
