Im in the process of doing up my M1000 and I was wondering what some guys have had for luck with either a 1200 or a ported 1000 motor.

I dont want people to tell me a turbo or anything like that.

I want to run pump gas so which ever one will give me the best bang for my buck then that will be want be what I want to run.

Thanks.

I have a couple rides on Lindermans porting and head mod running a SLP single and it has definately woke it up alot over just the pipe. In talking with Brent and others they felt strongly that overall a good port job put the 1000 very close if not rite with the 1200 and you retain the better reliability of the cast Stock piston over the more tempermental forged Wiseco that most 1200 kit's are using.

I only have 1 ride on my 1000 since Brent did the porting and head mod but so far am very pleased. The boondocker #'s were bang on as well as the clutching. I took it to him to do the 1200 kit and he suggested the porting instead, either way he was doing the work so he had no reason to mislead me.

Thanks guys that was the feedback I was looking for, looks like I will be joining you guys in getting my motor ported.

Last season I was running 75g weights and a 44/40 helix seeing 7740 rpm, this season I went to 80g weights and still the 44/40 and am seeing 7820+ so the increase is obvious. As for horsepower Brent figured an honest 198+ and I'm sure he knows, hope this helps.

Hey i have a ported m1000 motor also and im curious what numbers your running on your bd boxs any maps would be great thanks

If Brent guesstimates HP numbers the same way his dyno does....

How's backshift? Half a second, less than a second? Hope it works out for you.

BTW, Wiseco pistons aren't tempermental, just a matter of improper installation.

Obviously you have some problem with Brent? Why dont you tell us your thoughts on this then instead of bashing someone?

No not bashing at all. I've seen some triples just rocket out of that shop. Kudos to Brent. But when you take a PSI twin and claim it has over 250hp and can't back it up on the hill where the measily 200hp sleds are stomping you....yeah....makes me wonder a little about how that dyno is calibrated. But that's re-opening an old wound that has been the topic of discussion here since that motor was first bolted onto the dyno. Regardless, i hope your 1000's are working good and I know they will more than likely outperform most others out there so good luck and have fun....just don't believe #'s just because someone said it.

Well I've seen first hand a Speedwerx 1000 kit that works like a peice of junk untill Brent got a hold of it and now it rocks..
