1200 miles and counting on my FIX

Tonight I installed the Power Addiction 13:1 head on my 2008 Dragon.

The sled has got the FIX (of course), the SLP big single pipe, a power programmer running the SLP tune, and a timbersled cold-air intake system.

I just wanted to share that when I tore the old stock head off the bores and pistons looked fresh as daisies. Not a flaw to be seen. I was expecting SOME wear but I couldn't even feel a ring ridge on the top of the bores.

I mixed in 2 gallons of 110 octane fuel just to be on the safe side, and tomorrow I'm going to put another 100+ miles on the old girl.

Clutching in the mail from Carl's Cycle.

cheers :canada:

PS

I run Polaris VEG Gold synthetic, nobody is gonna convince me synthetic is bad for the ol' girl.

As for the head.

It ****ing rocked. It ****ing rolled. I simply cannot believe how much power my Dragon has. And totally reliable awesome power too.

I pulled hill after hill, some climbs that were 100% committed with total confidence. No worries.

Butt dyno? 20% increase in power. Yes seriously.

SO GOOD!

No, not even a whiff of detonation. In fact the engine was even MORE potent in the afternoon after I burnt the first tank (mix of 110 and pump gas) and all I had was good old 91 octane pump gas. Could barely hang on to the thing.

Tell us more exhaust you are running head pcv mapping..

This exhaust:

The map I use is the one SLP specced for the pipe I linked to above.

We have a map available for the 2008-10 800 CFI with SLP Single Pipe & SLP High Flow™ Intake Kit. This map provides increased throttle response, more consistency, improved midrange runability and better top-end performance. It also increases fuel economy and although it is not required, the PCV is highly recommended for running this combination.

the fix

Just installed the fix kit on my 2009 dragon 800 and i was very skeptical. I had a machine shop match the piston to the cylinders just like pms said. They did a killer job ring gap was right on the minimum clearance at .019 no adjusting with the handy dandy file. She fired up and i noticed the thing sounded throaty like my edge. I took it through the first heat cycle, and now for the compression test....155lbs on each cylinder no bs!!! With the polaris updated pistons it only made a 117lbs. I have too say I'm very stoked and hope its ready for the steep and deep!!!!!! very impressed so far
