1100 Turbo:Evolution vs TD at 10,000 feet, on a stock turbo.

I have talked with both company's and are both confident in there tuning I ride mountains deep snow and long hillclimbs Riding 700' to 7000' with a max of 8200 one in a while so

Evo's is a 215-220 tune non adjustable. But that power is made at 8000' and from my understanding that's max power on stock turbo at 10k. It's nice in a way cause you only have to clutch for 220 and forget it but,

TD has adjustable tunes. Kinda nice but That means dif clutch set ups they are offering 240hp but the question is what does that tune make for power at say 7500' is it still 240hp or bleeding down towards the 220 stock turbo limit

What elevation does stock turbo hit the 220hp limit

Adjustable tunes.....

I gotta be honest, i don't understand, why mountain guys would use adjustable tunes? If I had a tuner that had 3 options....I'd be on 3 all the time and wishing there was a 4! I've never run into a guy on the hill that says "whoa, too much power today, gotta turn it down". I understand the adjustability is a sweet option for different fuel choices you may be stuck with riding trail and lake. Mountain guys know what the fuel options are where they go and if there isn't the grade they need they bring what they require with them.

Not flaming anyone, never have, but the facts are there is only 1 tuner company that has done the work on the hill and the dyno all last winter. I'm not saying that there isnt customers happy with their adjustable tunes that ride in the mountains. If they are happy...great. What are they comparing that to for a standard? I also have sold Evo product to customers that said they were very happy at low elevation with their adjustable tune but at elevation it wasn't as good as they thought it should be and are changing.

I had a boost gauge on mine all winter thru all the different boxes and performance changes. I know in the elevation we ride (6600-8000) 19lbs is all you get and even that becomes less the harder you ride and the turbo heat soaks. 215-220 at that elevation is continuous realistic hp on the stock turbo. There is a reason that Evo doesn't have a 100LL tune for the stock turbo that is 240.....just saying.

In my 18 years of experience in all kinds of retail, customers usually are satisfied with what they buy until they see something that is better, then theirs isn't maybe as great as they thought. Reminds me of my buddy that thought his Hemi was awesome pulling his camper until I turned my 5.9 down to the same hp and then he wasn't thinking it was so hot....said I ruined his day lol.
