1100 turbo complaint

took my new sled out yesterday. i was very very happy with it straight up hills but wow i did to relearn how to side hill with the extra weight thats for sure i weigh 155lbs and am thinking i should have got the 800... also the reverse button stopped working. also made it straight pipe for$20 and love the way it sounds so....

goods are...

tons of power
will climb anything
easy to mod
sounds great

bads are....

side hill is going to take time
pulling it over is harder then my old m1000

just thought i would share that.... that was only the first day out on it and hopefully i like it more next time....

I know its a dead horse now, but that extra weight's gonna take extra effort. Im sure you will get used to it just in time to dump it, and by youself a M8.

lol im looking at the hcr m8 today... im kinda kicking my self.. as of right now i think i might have goten in over my head.. but im sure ill figure something out.. im going to play with the suspension some more today and see what i can figure out..

Vert. Post kit is a must for this sled. It takes different rider input to ride the 1100t. It'll just take some getting used to. The power is amazing though.

I know what it will take to make it easy, (easier) but I have to wait for mine to get here before I can mod it. 2 things have to be done to make this sled a contender for my style of riding.

well please keep us posted on what you do.. i lowered it to the upper hole on the triangle piece on the tunnel, lowered the air presure in the front shocks from 90 psi to 75 psi and raised the rear air presure from 130 psi to 150 psi...:face-icon-small-dis any other ideas?

Drop the skid, sharper steering, and narrower running boards and belly. Only way to do it.

yea that power is by far better then anything i have ridden.. i love the sled except for the side hill issue..lol hopefully the vert kit comes soon..

Maybe it would help if you put the sled on a diet and you start eating more. LOL
I know that the 150 lb guys make it farther up the hill and get stuck less often, but it takes more rider imput from them to get the sled turn or side hill than a 200+ lb taller guy. And I am not saying little guys can't ride, they just have to hang farther off the side than I do to hold a side hill.

try putting some more preload on your front skid shock. i find it helps.i'm putting on some 8'' slydogs and a inch lower riser.

Use the steering to keep the nose higher on the hill and use the power to spin the track. The balance is in the way you do it, not in the design of the sled. JMO

I agree with your assessment. I also agree with madmax that the vertical post is a must. I know everyone has their opinions, but for me, the handlebars are 3" too far forward and too low. The ProClimb 8 with the vertical bars 2 notches from the top is perfect. As I stated in my earlier review, I was dissapointed with the 1100T . I think the bars will make a huge difference.

Yes, the only to make it do what I think it should. I am the 210lbs 6'6" guy that can make it work, and I am complaining about the M8, but with or without the weight and power the sled needs to be changed to work like it should, without these changes I Know I could put a old M or pro-rmk more places and on way steeper hills. The vert post works ok on the stocker but for my needs it needs moved and on a turbo it needs to go down. If you stand wrong foot forward all the way to the front, the bars are to close. Because of the lack of steering I was trying to move forward to push the front end downhill on the steep stuff and maintain more control, but then the bars where to close. Even though I did sidehill some real steep stuff with the sled, to do it I had to lean it to the down hill side and if I wasn't 6'6" it would have been a pain, and it wasn't near as steep as some of the stuff I did on my m8 with a kmod.

I shouldn't have to mod much of the belly/side pan between a arm and running boards so where the clutch is shouldn't need it but from there back prob will, I have to wait for my sled before I know just how or if I can. I'm sure I can so its up to how. Its going to be interesting.

I would think a 38" ski stance would help a lot along with the vert. steering. From the guys that have ridden the demo sleds with these accessories they say it was almost night and day difference. I do a lot of boondocking and love to climb but don't do a lot of it....basically because of the people I ride with. I REALLY want a reliable 200hp+ sled on pump gas that i can boondock with BUT I'm starting to think this is a pipe dream.

my 120lb wife had her new 800 on its side and side hilling like i've never seen her before, her previous sled was a 09 m8, not sure what needs to be changed for you guys, but she was so excited how easy the new 800 is to get up and hold a sidehill compared to the old m8.
one thing i noticed is she has to stand with her foot further back on the running board, to get it up on one side.
she was a side hilling master the other day.
snow was not that deep either, i was surprised she was so comfortable on it already.
