1000 mile report on 885cc BB and XP...

well i just turned over 1000:D miles on the little girl this last ride and it truly has been a blast and a half

as for the motor it has never been touched and ran like a champ from day one, from my history with BB and turbos i did have second thoughts but very happy with Ralph's motor

as for engine setup... it is stock compression, weisco single ring 86mm pistons, stock carbration with 07 needles in middle position, with best results now being the dynoport ypipe, and pipe with mbrp can... i have added a few degrees timing but not sure if it helped much

primary seams to work the best with stock ramps, 20.5 grams of pin weight, blue-green spring with stock scondary...

i have the DJ helix but need to find more pin weight to be able to try out, it will probably even work better with it... mostly in the 52 to 57mph climbing with stock helix

most drivers that test drive it and compare it to their xp, claim better throttle response, lower rpm tq and wow hang the hell on!!... fun factor is increased immensely

i would think hp is increased at least 20hp, maybe closer to 30

mileage seams to be 65 miles on a very hard day climbing with little road drive, or more, and compared to stock, always better

as for the xp chaise, it has been very durable(stronger than any pine cone:D), problems so far were the dreaded belt issue, 803 ultimax and 377 skidoo took care of that, i also found the 3 mm shim to to push out secondary to reduce belt temps by 50 degrees

handle bar heaters and drivshaft, and bogging took care of first few weeks of running and never had no issues since

handling and sidehilling i have found better on this sled than ANY i have tried this year or others, what a first year sled:D

i did rip the track:mad:, and bent the rails first ride out, track need replacement , other stuff was repaired and still am running it(might of hit a stump just right, but nothing covered under warranty)

my last ride out i broke the jack shaft and found a spun bearing to be the culprit(wish you could grease them), but all covered under warranty, and parts robbed off Buddy's sled to have minimal downtime

if i could change anything, it would be, go to a 163" or a 156" 2.5 lug track,
add the big john secondary support, go to a 12" riser on handle bars

maximum speed i seen on my last trip on groomed trail was 91mph the speed cluster on clicker one and 20tooth gear... gps read 84mph(never find groomed trails so i did some testing:D)

over all i love the xp and power from the 885, think it is a great combo and complements one another

thanks goes out to BRP... split second performance(Ralph), dealer, wife and mechanics for a great year coming to a end!!:beer;

Too bad for your break down last weekend, you missed a great weekend in Revy, Baker & myself had a blast, I rode Maynards 885 with Nos on Saturday, seems to work good as well. Hopefully we can get out to compare your 885 to our 960 BB. Let me know when you are going next.
Later, Sheriff

i do feel bad, i was thinking of you guys more than once...

i was able to jump in with four other guys i have never meet before, they were great guys, but they had rooms booked in golden and did not want to try revys 1.5 more hrs longer that much:D...

i was that close, but we first got their friday night first, and new maynard was wanting to ride saturday without his new pickups... we ended up going to hope, probally the same time it takes for revy, lol

p.s. just got of the phone with maynard, we both are gonna kiss our wifes asses for a few days and see if we can do a trip around easter weekend... hope you can make it

i am having issues with the boondocker nitrous and will give it one more weekend to figure out before removing it... i keep getting the engine overheat mode after a few seconds of running it, does feel good the short time i have it on

Let me know what days you are going? You should try Maynards NOS, Brad has installed several & not 1 issue. Thinking about it on my 960. First things First.

Had lots of laughs with Doug & Maynard.

Long ***gun drive into Hope. might as well have driven to Revy

Rode Maynards sled as well last weekend, Climbs very well with the Bakers suspension, NOS and the 2.5 track. I think the giggle button will find itself on my sled in the very near future.

HEh heh heh 960 hmmm they are on to you now, you going out this weekend Sheriff Doo? No rooms in Revy yet I may have to spoon with Baker, not going to be pretty!

Phone him this morning because I think he might be sitting on a room for me. (Frosty)

Allrevsrule picked up one of the rooms I cancelled. I canned 2 of them. I have a commitment this weekend. Talked to Brad today, you may want to put NOS on that engine mod your doing I'm sure you will when you get that 960 running for next year. Do you still need those clutches picked up at Bakers? I am coming to Olds tomorrow to pick up the back plate of my primary minus the ring gear.:beer;:beer;

I have the clutches, thanks anyway. I am going to order a kit today, my sled will be in there 1st of the week anyway. Stop by & tell me some stories.lol

Drivers

No, You have to go to 7 tooth drivers. The 2 1/2" track is a 3 pitch so the drivers have to be changed anyway. I have 20/45 gearing and still can reach a corrected speed of 85 mph on the trail. (5% less than the speedometer shows)

I know its 3" pitch. I was wondering if you could squeeze in the 8t drivers. Not a big fan of the 7t tooth.

You have to go to the smaller drivers to fit that track in. Ironically You end up with more clearance than stock drivers & stock track...I tried to fit it with the large drivers & it don't fit. Trust me.

I think the Sheriffffffssss mod sled goes better then his 960.5 and holds antifreeze too!
Thats what the girls in Zala's say .............

That 995 of mine Rips up the snow pretty good. I guess it is the first time you have seen it, that ***ger always holds the antifreeze & has never pushed a rope (knock on wood). you can hold it wide open all day...Why am I trying to sell it????
Those Zala's girls will say anything, & what happens in Revy stays in Revy. lol
