well i just turned over 1000
miles on the little girl this last ride and it truly has been a blast and a half
as for the motor it has never been touched and ran like a champ from day one, from my history with BB and turbos i did have second thoughts but very happy with Ralph's motor
as for engine setup... it is stock compression, weisco single ring 86mm pistons, stock carbration with 07 needles in middle position, with best results now being the dynoport ypipe, and pipe with mbrp can... i have added a few degrees timing but not sure if it helped much
primary seams to work the best with stock ramps, 20.5 grams of pin weight, blue-green spring with stock scondary...
i have the DJ helix but need to find more pin weight to be able to try out, it will probably even work better with it... mostly in the 52 to 57mph climbing with stock helix
most drivers that test drive it and compare it to their xp, claim better throttle response, lower rpm tq and wow hang the hell on!!... fun factor is increased immensely
i would think hp is increased at least 20hp, maybe closer to 30
mileage seams to be 65 miles on a very hard day climbing with little road drive, or more, and compared to stock, always better
as for the xp chaise, it has been very durable(stronger than any pine cone
), problems so far were the dreaded belt issue, 803 ultimax and 377 skidoo took care of that, i also found the 3 mm shim to to push out secondary to reduce belt temps by 50 degrees
handle bar heaters and drivshaft, and bogging took care of first few weeks of running and never had no issues since
handling and sidehilling i have found better on this sled than ANY i have tried this year or others, what a first year sled![Big grin :D :D](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
i did rip the track
, and bent the rails first ride out, track need replacement , other stuff was repaired and still am running it(might of hit a stump just right, but nothing covered under warranty)
my last ride out i broke the jack shaft and found a spun bearing to be the culprit(wish you could grease them), but all covered under warranty, and parts robbed off Buddy's sled to have minimal downtime
if i could change anything, it would be, go to a 163" or a 156" 2.5 lug track,
add the big john secondary support, go to a 12" riser on handle bars
maximum speed i seen on my last trip on groomed trail was 91mph the speed cluster on clicker one and 20tooth gear... gps read 84mph(never find groomed trails so i did some testing
)
over all i love the xp and power from the 885, think it is a great combo and complements one another
thanks goes out to BRP... split second performance(Ralph), dealer, wife and mechanics for a great year coming to a end!!![Beer :beer; :beer;](https://www.snowest.com/forum/images/smilies/beer.gif)
