1/2 ton, how long is too long for vnose bumper?

Pickup now is a longbed Ecoboost, with pretty tall gears.

90% or more I'm solo with a single sled or snowbike in the back of the pickup. So, trailer is 90% storage, 10% trips.

For storage it would/could have 1 sled, 2 snowbikes, and 2 dirts bikes.

For trips, it would be 1 sled and 2 snowbikes. With a maybe of 2 bikes and 2 sleds.

Bikes are obviously narrow, but are the same length as a 154 sled.

Unless I decided to go farther than my typical CO or the Snowies. Mileage is 250 to 450 one way, with 300 to 350 where I usually go.

If I knew I was gonna use it a bunch, I'd go as short as I could and fit everything for the trip.

For storage, the longer might be worth the extra trip pain?

Yeah I should build a metal shed, but not in the mood for that, and my house garage is such a mess I need to get the toys out just be able to clean and get stuff situated. Like right now I've got my 2 stroke scooter out in the sun, because it's too much of pain to get it in/out of the garage with all the winter toys in there.

I have a 7X29 aluminum stealth that we have pulled from mn to west 4 times in the last couple years, 1000 miles one way freeway speeds with some nasty winds. Pulled with a f-150 short box ecoboost and two trips last year with a 15 crewcab Chevy half ton 5.3. Both trucks handled the trailer just fine with the eco having the torque advantage. Compared to a half ton from 5-10 years ago I was very impressed with how each handled the trailer loaded with 5 sleds. Very little sway even in the wind or icy roads. In your situation since you aren't traveling quite as far and using it for storage as well I would look at an 8-1/2 X 24'. Little shorter to get around easier and the wide body allows you more room to move around when getting things in and out.

Pretty much what I was thinking. Have found one pretty close to me that's been on their lot for a few years, believe it may be a 22.

V-nose trailers are night and day easier to tow. I wouldn't consider an new one without. I have a flat nose 7X14 steel frame enclosed that tows like a brick behind my '03 ext. cab, short box, 1/2 ton, 5.4 motor, 5spd auto, and 3.55 rear end. Like others have stated, newer 1/2 tons are much more capable than mine.
