09 XP is the 163 a good boondocking track?

I am going to order a new sled this year, XP or new M8 and wonder which track to go with. I am currently riding a 06 M7 with a 153 but was thinking about trying the 163 or 162 this time. Is there much of a boondocking and climbing difference between the 154 and 163.

This is the first year I have ever tried the 163 track and love it. It climbs better in the deep, turns great, and a boondockers dream. We have three doo's with the 151 they really go to. My polaris with the 144 is a bit small for my liking. I would buy the 163 if it were me. We ride mountains most the time

The 163X is an incredible boondocking sled. I've never regretted getting the 163 instead of the 154. I came off a M8 162 and an 02 Polaris 800 159. The XP turns sharper, floats better, climbs better, and is better in the trees and technical terrain. Hopefully '09 will have some of the clutching, gearing, driveshaft, etc., issues resolved.

The M8 162 is a great sled also. It is easier to carve, and has much more consistent clutching than you can get with the TRA. You can't go wrong with either.

If you ride the steep alot then go 163. Other than that there really isn't a reason. All the XP's float great and get up on top real easy. Just like saying that you don't need a 146 to boondock. All three turn, layover and handle great at slow speeds. You can really overthink this one. Buy what you want. They all doo great.

I started my snochek this last year with a 154 but realized I had never desired to shorten a track...ever. So changed order to 163 and has been awesome. We have had powder here...unreal until mid Feb. I would jump off to save the sled from burying and find myself staring at the bogie wheels...it was that deep. Getting out of it and back up on the sled got real hard as the day wore on. Nobody followed us XP's. Riding Baker. Goose
