800 e-tec OR THE NEW 1200 FOUR STROKE? WHo is gonna give the new platform a try. WHo is scared that there will be issues? I am ditching my cat and getting doo. WHat's the recomendation for a sled for the new year?

well as far as i know E-tec's are only 600s. They're probably going to work all the bugs that my come up before making an 800 E-tec. But i would get a summit 800, 154 or 163 track.

After all the trouble with my 07 XRS, I really wanted to buy a different makers sled just because I'm yanked at BRP, they gave it to me in the old corn hole!. I been looking and comparing sleds reading reviews etc. I hate to say it but the 09 Skidoo still might be the way to go, you would think after 07 and 08 they would have to get it right for 09. Famous last words. I don't know what to do at this point.

wow...when it comes to caring for the customer....Polaris beats BRP. Last December I was on threads and folks were still waitin for their XPs......I got mine 11/22 some weren't built until November...well, apparently Polaris customers had the same issue... BUT, the difference is Polaris will put money on it...$1000.00 guarentee see link below. You won't see BPR doing that.

I have a 05 RMK 900. I got a notice in the mail about a recall on the gas tank...in January 2008 or so. Didn't even notice a problem, until a month or two later we were riding him and the tank was leaking...wow, 3 years old and they contact us about a problem to fix it before we even noticed!!! Thumbs up Polaris.

I hope BRP will follow your example. I sold my XP .....If I can't depend on it to get me back to the truck...it's down the rode.

Love my REVs but I ride with a guy that has a D8 and it flat rips. He lost the motor but far as I hear that was a fluke... certainly a lot more XPs with problems... but that is a ton of money for either of them new.

gonna stick with the best Doo built yet and spend the money on trips to cool places... knowing my chance of making off the mountain under my own power is better than average.

If I win the lotery though: D8 for me (sorry Doo)

Heard good things about the D8,,, I'd like to ride with one, and like to see one witha bigger mill. The M10 with SLP kit is aso impressive. Ya, Doo needs to figure out their 800 motor issues,,, but I doubt they will have changed much by next season,,, Saw too many 800 doo guys left at the cabin to look after the fire while they waited for buds to finish their day so they could tow the 800 sled down the hill,, I left one a beer for his efforts to keep the cabin warm :)
My 1000 still running, but it's getting up to where it's risky, 3500 kms.
Doo also need a 1L 2-stroke,,, that's a sore point right now.

maybe the d8 then>

Looks like most people are recomendin the d8..Where is the rider posistion compared to the rev? The main reason i like the xp is because of the aggressive rider position compared to my cat. Does the d8 have a similiar forward riding position? What are the main issues that the doo doo engines are havin?

BRP fixed its gas tanks before most ever hit the snow or even got to the the customer, not out in the customers hands for three fricking YEARS~!!!!
Polaris has had its problems too, all brands have, Yami's are gravity challenged, Polaris the only one where some of its customers tried to get up a class action law suit over the belts on the 900. I would not trade my 450 lb full wet TNT mod mtn sled for anything as nothing could come close, its 80 lbs lighter than a 163 X~!!!! It is so light it makes my wifes little 05 Rev 550 Summit feel like a Polaris!!! Heh Heh
Skooter you need to skoot back over to the Polaris side, your not needed or wanted here!!!

Good Luck

I thought I wanted a D 8 until I started lookin' hard at them, sounds like a bunch of motors goin' down, not just a couple, other trouble too. The deep powder challenge leads me to believe doo is still the way to go. I would like have liked to see the artic cat guys turn their tracks around and try it again. Sounded like they were set up for harder snow, runnin' them backwards, I thought they just did that in the spring.
