09 m8 vibration

just got the sled and started it up and found that there is alot of vibration in the handlebars,personally way too much.When you hold the bars at idle 1800rpm your arms are shaking pretty good.....Is this really that normal for that sled?When it is idling everything is vibrating and making noise.Is there a way to correct.
My m7 i had you started never shaked a bit.

they all vibrate when sitting.and smooth as butter when you gas it.good thing we dont ride around at idle:)

It should'nt viberate that much. Take the clutch off and check the run-out and then check the clutch for mis-matched weights or bent sheaves. Also check the compression and check for loose motor mounts.

I have had 3 of them, they all shook, just ride it and have fun:D

the sled is new not a mile on it but i will things over.If that's normal then fine,but just wanted to ask around and get some feedback on the issue.The thing is i don't wanna drive it like that and it gets worse,that's why i'm asking around.Thanks alot guys

Yeah they shake quite a bit. Bring it up to 2200 for a sec and you will see the whole thing settles right in.

engines that live at high rpm have what we call an "over balance" its to bring the balance and the harmonics together at high rpm...the down side is at lower rpm the are very out of balance and that is what you are feeling. just pin it and it all goes away:D

one way to get rid of the vibration all together.

you could buy a four stroker! lol that would get rid of all vibration!
cost is way to great though you would give up fun for no vibration!

Congrats on your new sled there Rudy, they do shake at low rpms a bit its no big deal it will run real smooth at higher rpm's. I have often wondered if a good clutch balancing would help but i will probably wait till next year to do that it made a big difference on my old rmk 900, my m8 has low kms right now so i am not going to worry to much about the clutches yet. Enjoy your new ride !!!

They didn't slip a 1000 cc engine in there, did they? LOL :D

The 09 M1000 I rode shook much, much more than the 09 M8 I rode.

I do have a RX-1M that is as smooth as glass and sounds like a superbike with its single pipe under tunnel exhaust, if you change your mind. :beer;

the engine isn't broke in yet for one and when you first start it cold, its built to run richer until the engine warms up to temp then it will lean out. it will feel smother on the snow too.

Every new M8 or M1000 I've bought scared me at first by how much they shook, ride it for 100 miles & it gets hugely better. They all shake at low R's though.
