09 m8 tunnel thickness---THINNNNNN

anybody ck there tunnels--we weighed a 08 snopro and the tunnel is veeeeeery thin---hope it holds up--not bashing just heard all last year about the xp and tinfoil---m8 is way thinner than the xp for sure

The rear section of the tunnel, the part behind the suspension mounting points is a thinner gauge than the front to save weight where it is not needed. It has been that way since the king cat, although it may be thinner on the 09.

yeah, the back of the tunnel is really thin and i think it's been that way since the M came out.. i have bent the rear on both a M7 and a M1000 so he's right about the XP having thicker alu in the tunnel.

tunnel

I talked to vanamburg and he said the cat tunnel was VERY light, not much weight to shave off there. But the 07-08 design was pretty poor in the back and my cooler holds way, way to much snow/ice. Good improvement for 09. I,ll be interested to see if snowest weighs the sleds after a day of riding "with snow". I'd like to do the bdx bumper but I gotta stop spending money on this thing(07 m8) and just save up for an 09.

don't worry d ac uses a SPECIAL kind of tinfoil, shiny on both sides so not to worry:) easier to find that way when your upsidedown!!!

you guys had much snow to play on yet????were suppose to get more thru the weekend:D:D
what we noticed on the tunnel was how thin it was right above where the rear suspension mounts--felt kinda scarey pushing it in with your thumb-but as long as it holds up thats all that counts:beer;:beer; they sure did a good job gettin some weight off it:D:D

Well if thats all AC has to worry about their doing pretty good. I know a few companies that have drive shaft, engine, and many more issues to deal with.

did the 08 low snow shoot out a couple of weekends ago, had almost a couple of feet at the top but then the rain came and washed it all away. is supposed to start back up today a little hopefully. like to see you guys also get out early, don't need 6 feet to have a good time. i'll ride the road all day if its what i have to do to get out, i just love to ride!!!! haven't had a chance to see the new 09, my buddie picked his up the other day and was wanting to get a chance to go over and check it out but haven't had the chance.
