09 M8 running rich

do you run this oil delete? if so what ratio do you run for fuel/oil? I am looking at doing this on my 08 m1000 and have had many different answers.:beer;

Yes, 40:1 is where your sled is suposed to be set stock and thats what I run, I also only run APV oil

If you are running crazy rich, your dealer should be able to do a flow test on your fuel system and components and match injectors, ecu and fuel pump accordingly... mine did.

your dealer is smarter than any I've talked to

Since when is 50:1 "risky"? That's what these modern 2-stroke oils are meant to be run at. There are a lot of guys running 60-65:1 with no issues.

Now that's a bit lean for my comfort, but 50:1 is perfect.

50-1 is perfect for most sleds, but not the m1000. it has a spot in the upper mid range that needs more oil so 40-1 is a good mix for it. if you mix this sled at 50-1 and are in this rpm range often, it will blow.

Ya, they are alright. He is part of the R&D field test team and new product evaluates for Cat here in Ontario. Here is one of the '10 evaluator sleds he had in march. Cedar Springs is the Dealer

Mine was loading up and I was noticing extra smoke, and I was going through oil like crazy, I posted a pic for a Y-pipe question and kind snowest people also noticed my oil pump arm sticking

If you know your chit 50:1 will work, but most people on here will wind up blowing a motor pushing it that far, especially with mods because of the quick changes of the computers, the ecu can add or remove fuel if need but doesn't change the stock oiler, if you have the stock oiler you should average 40:1. I run 40:1 on the m1000 with the oil delete and make some long wot pulls, its better to make sure oil is making it everywhere under extreme heat, and have yet to be beat by anything less a turbo so no need to push it.
