As far as I'm concerned the TCP bumper and the Skinz bumper are two different animals.
One is under $150 and the other is $400+ so it's all about how much protection you NEED.
looks like if you hit something with that tcp bumper you are going to be doing more damage than a few plastic parts. Maybe a bulkhead? dont know but common sense usually tells me that something has to give and more times then not the tree aint going to be the one giving. here is a prime example. Look real close I dont see that tree move an inch.

By the way they both look like very good products not bashing on either one.
Was just looking at the pictures and expressing my opinion and concerns.
I will be ordering the 09 front end for mine just didnt think I needed to install the bumper on top of it, as all I want it for is to be able to pick the front of my sled up, not go look for things to run over.
i got a little friendly with a tree last year so i had to do an on-the-fly mod in order to finish out the day. Now this mod works great. I will offer kits for $5+ shipping. You wanted a cheap solution now you have one :d :d :d
ouch
mod
Dont assume you know me or how well I know sleds. Like I said before NO OFFENSE you are buying parts regardless. All I meant is with stock plastic up front you have something to slow you down before it hits the bulkhead. I have seen stock dragons take a pretty good hit to the front breaking all that plastic up front and not hurt anything cosmetic. It just looks like the bumper bolts directly to the bulkhead so therefore nothing to slow you down but the bulkhead. I wouldnt assume that you know how much pressure it takes to bend a bulkhead because if hit just right it doesnt take much. My opinion is that I would rather break some plastic in those minor crashes vs a bulkhead. Yes I agree you hit something hard and no matter what you have, it is going to total it. Anyway it does look like you can pick it up and not worry about your buddy going ooooopppppps sorry buddy!!! Ohh and I am sure that every designer never has any flaws or down sides to their product right?[/Q]
Just stopped at TCP and took a look at they're 09 bumper and it's just an add on to the stock bumper. It has two pieces to choose from top and bottom sold seperately. No price avalibe yet. It rivets onto the stock bumper and the bellypan in the shock tower for the top suport and on the bottom suport it rivets to the bottom of the bumper and then to the bellypan in the bottom in front of the A arm bolts. So all it's strangth is based on the strangth of the stock bumper and the plastic bellypan.
It looks very nice but they have no price yet. I think I'm going to order one from skinz.__________________

Well Chettt man...thats too bad...i was really hoping someone would have come up with a more cost effective bumper set up for the 08.Due to the already large demand for Skinz products they have decided to hold off on doing a bumper for the 08 and earlier IQ. Sorry.
