09 IQ Front Bumper Upgrade!

I'll tell you what sucks. Having an '08 that's already considered an older IQ.
I definitely need a stronger front bumper.

Pull all of your 2008 plastic off the front... sell it on Ebay or Swapmeet....

Then get the 2009 parts and install them... problem solved for very little cash.

I like the looks of that one, but it still leaves the front end open for damage. I have seen TCP new bumper and it covers all the plastic, and the best part the days of 400.00 are gone. No cutting needed-It should be in the next snowest for everone to see.

get some pics on here, we need to see it! no more $400 whats the new price? I have already ordered one for the old price, as well as the skinz. I'll use the most economical.

TCP Bumper

Tri City is installing a bumper on my 08 Dragon and I stopped in to see the progress today. While I was there I got a look at the bumper for the 09 (on their demo sled) and it is freakin awesome! The installation looked much easier and the bumper blended in perfectly with the lines of the sled. It was a little longer than others I have seen and looks like it will protect the hood a little better too.
I mentioned to them that they should post some pictures, but if you looking for a bumper on an 09 Dragon, you might want to wait until you see what this one looks like. Just my 2cents.

Tcp bumper

I stoped in tri city the other day and saw their prototype 09 bumper. It looked like it is a huge improvement over stock and a lot more coverage than the one i have seen on snow west. In my opinon it looks like its worth waiting for. The parts department says they should have them the first part of october.

Front radiator?

So ive got an 07 600 cfi switchback and i like these bumpers a lot. I have looked at the options and i was wondering if i was to switch the parts to make my nose the narrower, like an 09, will my radiator still fit? Do i need my radiator? We ride a good mix of trail and powder so i kinda think i should leave it in. Also, with a skinz float plate they say to drill it out to let air through. But will the bumper fit with my radiator all installed?

Thanks for all your help!

WHAT, no pics?

Nope...

But, you dont need the radiator... Same chassis with 900 CFi and you dont need it.... beleive it or not... actually will run cooler if you dont run the Rad..

BUT

You have to do it correctly.

Read ALL of these posts and you should have your answer...dont skim it or you may miss an imoportant point

#1. This bumper will work IF you convert the nose over to the 09 which is approximately $420.

#2. You do not need the radiator take it out.

#3. The template that comes with the Float Plate is for those that want to still run the radiator. If the radiator was needed they would have cut the hole out already. They made it an options because more people are not running the front rad.

#4. No the new nose will not accept the radiator.

Tcp price

I dont think they have an exact price but it sounded like it would be in the same price range as the one on snow west. Like i said before i really like what tcp has done. I ran the tcp brush bumper on my 08 rmk and by far that was the best investment i have made for my sled and am planning on doing the same on my 09.

what is the big deal about the front bumper? Is my aim for the trees just that far off. I have an 08 800 and not one issue with the front bumper.

you will, trust me, one day you will, wish there was something better up front:)
you can rip them off just getting the sled unstuck.

As far as I'm concerned the TCP bumper and the Skinz bumper are two different animals.

One is under $150 and the other is $400+ so it's all about how much protection you NEED.

looks like if you hit something with that tcp bumper you are going to be doing more damage than a few plastic parts. Maybe a bulkhead? dont know but common sense usually tells me that something has to give and more times then not the tree aint going to be the one giving. here is a prime example. Look real close I dont see that tree move an inch.
