09 hawk fest

Southern Idaho hawkfest

Lots of Utah riders, lots of Washington riders, we are hoping for Island park maybe end of Feb, whatever weekend will not be a hillclimb event?

date

We need to set a date so everyone can get it scheduled in. It would be great to get in the deep powder challenge also. We should have a good group from here if the dates work out.:D

Hawkfest is going to be in Montana this year

Skip is going to host it this year, check out his myspace page he's got some pictures on there. He came to the first hawkfest. He rides with Bud who many of you know as the oldest hawk rider. They ride by Lolo pass in Montana. It will again be presidents day weekend. Looking forward to awesome riding great fun with other hawk riders along with traditional sleds. Since my little lady I ride is definately old school.
I can't wait the snow is suppose to be amazing the locals are great and even though there isn't a hawk being built this year there are still plenty to go around. You guys are ALLLLlll awesome and if you have any great suggestions give me and email.
We will have stickers again this year and anyone who wants to donate things for giveaways please let me know. I will be giving out trail maps and having planned events like last year. We would like to show anyones footage from their hawks so bring them on DVD if you can. We will be giving away awards and sharing lots of stories. Same schedule as the last couple of years.
Friday-riding for who arrives early-informal get together that night.Saturday riding early am-maybe some trials type events-big party that night-Sunday riding-information get together that night-Monday breakfast at the restaraunt then event closing.

http://www.lolohotsprings.net/ This place is awesome they have hot springs in the winter, and onsite bar, casino, they rent cabins, they have rv parking and the staff seems great!!
They said their riding starts about mid October and the snow is nice and deeep, great technical riding and some riding for the rest of us :) They rent traditional snowmobiles also.
Soooo this should be a blast for everyone. Sorry it's not to far east or more south but Skip and the Montana guys are pretty excited about it and they seem to have a pretty big group. So Steve you'll have to bring the clan from the south. J&L start trucking from the East and Terry you will have to start coming from BC. Mike from Cali you will just have to come breath some clean Montana air. Because its going to be amazing this year.

Can I bring the KTM530 with the explorer kit on it????

Bring whatever you can

Hawk, traditional sled, mod, kit, or a beauty like my sled with big *** daisy stickers on it.
The only rule is we will ride ride ride and ride some more. If you guys are going to make the trip we are going to make it worth your while.
The guys know some great areas of riding and we will be doing organized rides and handing out maps.
I talked to the resort today and the place sounds amazing!!!!!
So I know Skip doesn't get on here very much (Hawkdoggin) and Bud doesn't so we will have to gear our riding questions towards those guys and the event planning stuff towards me.
They will be able to give you ideas on how to set your machines up ahead of time so they will just rock.
CAN"T WAIT@@@

A note from Theirry the guy with the coolest looking Hawk I have ever seen

He does all of his own custom logos and they are freakin amazing...

Here is his suggestion.

How about a little 20 minute enduro type race ! Let's keep it friendly and fun oriented. All the Snow-Hawk riders on one line, motocross style start ! That would make KILLER FOOTAGE. Maybe we could ask the hosts to have some kind of a trail layed out around the trees of the area there. I mean, that would be soooooooooooo cool !
Thierry

-we did try to do this last year but the terrain didn't really allow for it, I am told that this year it is a definate possibility.
Did I mention that you RIDE FROM YOUR CABIN!!!

Most of our riding ranges from 4500 to 8700 feet and typicaly we have lots of light powder . We have 270 plus miles of groomed (cough cough) trails but for the most part we spend very few miles on the trails cause your almost immediatly into awsum off road riding areas from ez to some pretty extreme and some just unreal country where we can go for miles !:D

How about hawk rentals, I would love to come but it would be to far to drive from Alaska, Maybe I could fly down and rent a hawk while I'm there. I prefer not to ride a two ski anymore and it's so much more fun to ride with other hawks. Do the guys in MT have rentals, or maybe Tony would bring some extra's with him?

CJ

We"ll be there!!

Ill bring a few conversions and maybe something else if things work out right..
How about a night ride???

MN ride share

Tkswild1 are you planning on going and do you have room for a passenger?
I don't think my old truck can make the journey. Also I see on craigslist that someone is looking for a hawk in MN, maybe we'll have another in the state .

Hmm

Yea. I will have room. Should'nt be a problem. If Blazin Jason ever get's off his dirt bike and start's getting online with snowest he will prolly confirm also and we can get a full truck together. Keep in touch Nightrain we can do some mich. run's also. Hook up the Duane and Jason from Lamoines auto, and blazin J
