09 D8 HPS can. Should I?

I upgraded from an 07 RMK 600HO to an 09 RMK 800 this year. My 600 had an HPS can on it and I liked the sound and build quality. The 800 I got has 2010 updates, a PCV, stock pipe and SLP can which is kind of on the quiet side. I've searched past posts and have a Dynotech subscription and haven't been able to find any dyno numbers with a HPS can. Has anyone seen any dyno results with an HPS can? I want a little BRAAAP but don't want to give up any HP.

I loved the HPS on my D8. It was smaller and sounded better than the SLP can. Great sounds, a little loud when the valves opened. If you live in Colorado or an area that sound tests, you might not pass.

As for performance, I didn't find any dyno numbers either, but it seemed to run amazing. I had a modified stock pipe and the combo worked great.

Some like the HPS and some don't do to noise. I think is it the best quality can out there. All the guys i ride with run HPS. And we all feel as though you gain a tad bit of throttle response. I haven't seen a dyno sheet so i couldn't tell you what it does to hp.

Personally I find the HPS can on my 09 D800 to be a little too quiet. My old 800 doo had a B@B stinger on it and was a fair bit louder.I loved the sound when laying it over on the left especially when it echoed off the trees

I have one on mine, if I were to do anything other than turbo next time I would go quieter though. I like the sound, but it is a bit loud, I live close to town so yeah, people don't like it much. I like the sound of an SLP pipe and can setup, that's a nice sound IMO. But the HPS is still a really good can. If you want loud then this will do it for ya. Give off a nice deep sound.

HPS can on a stock pipe will work but no HP gains, and maybe even a little loss of power.
HPS can on a SLP pipe does not work well at all ( first hand experience on a 700 CFI)
When engine is cooler works well for about one to two pulls....... then when the engine and pipe get heat soaked no power at all.
It was very disappointing.

Interesting to hear you say that. Friend of mine has an 07 D7 with SLP pipe and HPS can, works awesome on his sled.
