08 XP, HPS or MBRP can? Better? Why?

Just picked up a used XP came with the MBRP can. Have heard good things on the HPS. Which can is the best for the XP sleds. No other mods have been made to the motor.

I have the HPS and am happy with it. Can I tell the difference in performance? NO, and I would never try and BS someone into thinking I could. I do like the sound of it over stock; I don't like my sled too loud. I havn't heard the other can and don't have a comparison for you. I personally would not change if you are happy with the way the MBRP sounds.

I put the HPS can on my 07 800r and was told that I would not have to rejet.First ride plugs were"silver".Called HPS and the guy told me to rejet??I run the MBRP on my 08 800r and no jetting required.Sounds good,shaved some weight and can say I really did not notice any performance change with either of the cans.6000'-8000'.

In the BRP race manuel they dynoed the 800R with a few cans on it. There was a bunch of hyp about this a while back. The only one that didnt lose power was the MBRP. I dont think they had a HPS though. Anyway the dyno was done at sea level and a lot can change when you are running at 10,000ft. I wouldnt worry too much about it. There aint a can out there that does anything for the XP other than save about 10lbs. The 1 or 2 hp you might gain or lose you will never feel. That being said, I have used a couple cans before that did not run well at all at elevation. We usually take a couple stock sleds and test different parts on them side by side to make comparisions. I would run it and be happy and worth the hassel to change IMO.

i'am torn between hps or mbrp. my last 2 doos had mbrp my new xp is leanin tword the mbrp unless i can get a good deal on a hps.

Heck if it came with a mbrp can I would run it, and try it out. Would save you about $300, if it sucks then I would buy a HPS they seem to be the best. Good luck
