08 xp clutching issues.DJ clutch kit

so i bought an 08 xp this fall, probably mistake number 1, and right from the get go i had issues with the clutching. didnt have enough pin weight, previous owner had helix in wrong, so needless to say the helix got f***ed up, so i got a DJ setup, i live in ND so the elevation is around 1500 ft here, im running the pink w/white spring with 20.4 grams in the dalton pins on clicker 4, and have the QR 11 helix. so thats how i have it setup. now, it rips pretty aweasom at bottom end, but if im heading down the trail and i goose it when it shifts at 65mph roughly the rpms drop to 7800 then it will not pull it back up it will drop to 7500 then 7000 and i have to slow down to 50 to get it to backshift. is this kit not ment for high speed on the trail or do i have another issue? i mean i never ride on the trail anyways but i noticed it by accident and jus wanted to know if its an issue, it dont seem right to me, but this is the first summit ive had. thanks for any imput.

First make sure that every part in both clutches is in perfect condition, if it has the original '08 spring cap/bushing it needs to be updated. Arms, rollers, bushings all need to be free moving but with no excess play in any direction. Once that is confirmed, THEN begin tweeking the setup.
Also check PTO crank runout, limit is .003"...if it's much over that, there may be issues other than clutching.
Another question.....what belt are you running?

everything checks out good in the clutches, rollers, arms, ect, im running the doo 377 belt and it has maybe 75 miles on it, ive tried everything i can think of, so was just gunna see if anyone else has had this problem i guess. how do you tell if its the updated spring cap? and also what should the spec, be on the bushing in it? there is like no happy medium with it, it either overrevs on bottom and pulls good on top or it pulls good at bottom an wont pull at top.

well i might have found the problem, i was playing with the pin weight and had the clutch apart, everything looked good and i took some weight out. put it back together and went riding, pulled good at bottom still and was better at the top, but not were i wanted it yut, so i found some nice snow that i was playing around in and all of a sudden it wouldn't pull and was shaking like crazy. so i rode home, took the clutch apart and the center of the spring cap busted out of it and it destroyed the rollers, pins, arms and ramps. any idea what could have went wrong???? i rode it about 30 miles total , and rode it bout a mile home when it was shaking.

.................now the question arises. Do you know what parts and flyweight are installed in the primary clutch?

....sorry to hear of spring cup failure, heard it happen quite a bit over the last few years, bushing walks out of the fit and then the cup just smashes. A few weeks ago, I had a BC customer who had the local skidoo dealer change out spring cover for him and he went out and this happened to him, completely trashed the inside of the primary - dealer is going good for it.
