08 XP 154 speed

Trying to remember what speed I was able to get my sled up to last winter and even earlier this winter? We ride at around 8000-9000 feet. Went riding two days ago and this again this afternoon. Today the sled just seemed to be slow and not have the usual go. RPMs are right at 8200ish when the sled gets going a little. But only able to get it moving to 60 mph for some reason. For the life of me I can't remember what I was able to get it up to before. Any help would be great. Belt looks fine. Bad gas (would I still be abel to get the rpms up to 8200)?

Thanks. We ride in northern Colorado.

91 was the highest my x package guage recorded with 21/45 gearing. I wasn't even close to a full shift on the primary. This was on a flat road 3" loose snow on semi-hard pack. at 2400'

I'm gearing down to 20/45 and adding some pinweight. Hopefully I can get closer to full shift and still pull this 90 mph!

My sled feels kinda doggy though. and Engages to high.

What are the stock gears in the 08 summit x 154? Are they 21/45?

I brought my sled in for the drive shaft replacment and gauge update. Anyways last winter I was able to easliy hit 85 / 90 across some lakes up here. Elevation 2500 max. I brought the machine in and this last weekend I was heading over to a friends cabin up two rivers. I usely can get up to eighty. This time the machine would only go 75. It crawled up to 78. 7700 rpms with a 5 inches of powder on top of a 3 foot base. I should be at 8100 right? Is the machine not back shifting on that little bit of deep snow properly?
I really dont care for the speed but I called by dealer and they said that they didnt touch my gears when they changed the drive shaft. Im going to check but I need to know what stock gears came in it. There was a update last year for lower gearing. Im wondering if those f_____s put that lower gearing setup in the machine.
Also they replaced my 08 rollers with 09's. They said mine were sezied.

08 gearing stock is 21\45. The update was 19\45. I tried 20\45 but did in fact stay with the 19\45 with loaded pins to get full shift. With lower gear and full pins it should go faster. The stock clutching will only use half the clutch.

154x 08 updated to 09 clutch guts

Have not been to the hills yet to try her out, but out in a flat field with 3 to 5 inches fresh on top of hard she reads 161 km top speed. Last year best she would doo is 146 km and pulled cords (166 belt, lake run very little snow.) Don't know if the dealer removed pin weight that we added last year ,he did change ramps, helix, primary spring, as per 09 ski doo setup. Gained about 1.5 (at 3 now was at 1 or 2 last year) clickers compared to last years setup. home is at about 2500 ft. I don't know how accurate the speedo is and the garmin quit on me. I very much like the 09 set up so far, pulls very hard, hope I have enough clicker left to get me 8100 in the deep 4000 to 7000ft.

Put DJ's kit in and pulled 95 on flats arround house. 6600ft, 20 top tooth mbrp can and the rest is stock. Up in the deep i was at about 45 climbing small hills and flats. Snow was real deep and pretty thick. elevation up there was around 9000 ft. Now if i could keep a belt alive longer than two rides we might be on to something.

Funny thing my 08 went in for service and dealer replaced the primary spring cap and inner bushing. He said they were out of spec. Now the rpm's came way up and I had to clicker way down. This I thought would have gone the other way as I thought if the clutch parts were worn, the clutch would not close properly and then over rev? Just something to consider. BTW I looked over the clutch closely before taking it in and found that the spring cap did wiggle a little on the shaft but it did not look bad.
