08 D7 bogging.... Need Help

My brother-in-law has an 08 D7 has always ran really well, last 2 or 3 rides has developed this bogg, mainly at high rpm's.
Someone told us it was the egt gauge... so we replaced that and its still doing it...
Is it not getting air.... to much fuel.... maybe something with the exhaust valves...? I'm stumped on this one

Any help would be great! Thanks

Have you cleaned the exhaust valves yet? If not, Id try that first and make sure the diaphragms have no tares in them. There are a number of things that could cause that, but that is an easy one to do.

make sure there is no obstruction in the exhaust can..take the can off ans shake the heck out of it. On the stock cans baffels will fall out and clog the outoput..the shake test does not always work..swap the can for a test ride.

One of his valves looks a little rusty... could that have something to do with it?
Whats the best way to clean those?

i have a 08 rmk 700 and last year at about 400 miles i started getting a bog at 4200 rpms. it turned out to be the hand warmers shorting out on the bars . make sure the up date has been done, electrical tape between the bars and element. my dealer said it was done but i pulled the grip off and it was not , hope this may help :beer;:beer;

I pull the whole thing apart and wipe the bulk oil off, then use brake cleaner to get the rest. Dont use any cleaner on the diaphragm, because it might break the rubber down. On the guillotine I use a small wire hand brush and break cleaner, then buff it out with some 1000 grit wet and dry. When you take the nut off the guillotine, make sure the guillotine is in a rag in a vise and that the diaphragm is not stuck to the nut when loosening the nut. Could tare. Make sure that you lock tight the nut when you put it together.

The one rusty valve is from water dripping in from the air box on the underside of the hood. Look and you will see the hole. Polaris located it right above the hole in the exhaust valve cap. Plug the factory hole in the airbox and drill a new one off to one side or the other to fix this issue. You will find the spring in that exhaust valve covered in rust, possibly pooched.
