08 700 Dragon broken crank

Yawn.

It's always the same over and over. Someone has problems with something, it's usually 3 times, or 3 buddies, or 3 whatever. Start reading posts and see how many times people use the number 3.

Your crank broke, enough said. It was out of warranty by almost a month and a warranty is a warranty. Sometimes dealers will go to bat for long time good customers, sometimes they won't, it all just depends. Why should they give you warranty? If they give it to you out of warranty where should the line be drawn then?

if your really that concerned about a motor failure after 3k miles why dont you sell BEFORE your warranty is up? dealers occasionally can get the manufacturer to cover failures by "good will" after warranty is up but its a shot in the dark

What I think is funny is how much bs this really is in the original topic. How come everyone always has 3 or a buddy's did this saga in these forums. Been on here since the early 2001 and it's the same old song and dance. Start watching how people that are upset start a thread. It's always the same.

Yawn!

I have ridden around 2400 miles in a single season with my 11 600 Rmk last season. I would be pissed off if I had that kind of failure at 3000 miles...For me a top end should last at least 10000miles and a crank around 18-20000 miles.

But in the real world motor designer for sleds are shooting for a 300 hours of engine life span before a rebuilt. This is if the motor has no bad luck ever and ran in perfect condition...Mine has now around 70-80 hours on it for the 2400 miles run.

But there is always exeptions. Ive seen brand new motors blew up after only 24 miles and other running over 20000 miles without ever being toutch...

And I just did a tune up on an 1959 2 strokes outboard that never had the engine opened...thats 52 seasons of at least 6 months..who knows how many hours is on it...

The mileage you are talking on a mountain sled is a pipe dream. Most mountain sleds don't even make it 10k miles.
