07 to 08 M Series CCU differences?

The part numbers are different, when you put a 08 CCU on an 07 it takes the headlights about 15 seconds to come on. The part numbers for the M8 and M1000 are the same for the same years, but different between the two years. There is obliviously a difference in the two, does anyone know exactly what they are and why?

not sure of all the differences but i think my buddy w/ an 08' was able to reflash his for the engine reverse and ditch the mechanical and he said it wouldn't work on my 07' ccu...

Your talking about the ECU and yeah that's correct. The CCU/Voltage Regulator mounted on the shock tower is what I'm taking about.

Ccu

07 and 08 CCU numbers both supercede to the most current number.

0630-218 original 07 number supercedes to 0630-246

0630-245 original 08 number supercedes to 0630-246

engineering change but not sure of all the reasons

Do you know how he got the reflash done? Did he just take it to the dealer?

My 07 with the stock 07 ccu did that the other day. It started then about 15 seconds later the headlights turned on. Never happened before or since. I hope this isnt the start of a problem.
