07 REV XRS - Motor, Crank, Clutch Issues

I am looking at purchasing an 07 REV XRS with 1700 miles on it. The sled visually looks very clean. The current owner said that it was a late model 07 and all of the necessary updates to prevent the classic 07 issues came included from the factory. Is this possible? Most that I have researched say that its warranty work or full 'R' motor replacement.

Any additional questions/concerns that I should address before I make an offer.

He is currently asking $4200 for this sled. I just dont want to get in a situation where I am forced to put a new motor in it. Here is a pic of the sled: http://bozeman.craigslist.org/rvs/2796351335.html

Thanks for anyones thoughts

I had 2 07's and both motors blew after 400miles on them. I have 2 07's in my shop right now both needing new motors. Enough said, only get one with an updated motor or else sledding won't be fun because blowing your motor will be in the back of your head the whole time. You are better off spending an extra 1500 and getting a nice xp or saving a 1000 and getting a 04-06 rev.

It depends on what was done when rebuilding it. The 07 cases need line bored to open up bearing clearance (to tight for water cooled cases). If the update was done in 07 there is a chance it still has the same issues it did new. If it was done later on 08 to 09 they changed the clearance for the bearings in the new cases and have different bearings. If they only put a crank in it and not cases there is a chance of it happening again. ALso the xrs came with a track that I didnt care for. Personally my favorite year of the rev was 06, but thats just my .02

Best out of the crate Rev was the 06......BUT once you work through all the 07 problems you'll have a tuff contender with the new shiny buffaloes....add a few add- ons and never see those buffaloes again.

Thanks guys - Another one that I am looking at now has the crank/clutch updates. I am not postive what they did, but I called the dealership with the VIN to be sure that the work was done (i.e. new cranks, new bearings, etc). THey did confirm that warranty work that was completed on the clutch and crank.

Other option is an 07 with 2600 on the chassis with a new motor w/ only 300 miles on it. SLP heads, Y pipe and can.

Here's my take on the 07 I owned an xrs also 450 miles motor blew ski doo put new motor in and I put 5100 miles on that motor no trouble but it never had the power the first motor had not even close. Sled worked good I have an 09 actually I liked rideing 07 better for technical riding. Staight up cimbing the 09 is alot better works the snow better going up.
