07 M1000 set up questions

Have a 07 M1000, ran the flatland clutch set up recommended by cat last year in Revy and honestly did not have any trouble or seem short on power or rpm. Anyone else running this heavy of a clutch setup?

I am also wondering about setting this sled up for the deep stuff. Since we have to drive for 12 hours to ride out west, our testing is at a real minimum. i am wondering about the best method of set up on these chassis? I was told at first to let my limiter strap out all the way or even add to it and run lots of ski pressure, but it seemed it would just wheelie and trench, then advised that I was way off, tighten the strap as short as possible and loosen up the front...its better, but has anyone got any experiance they want to share on chassis setup?

Have seen in the mags that there is some question about the mounting hole placement on the forward mount of the rear skid, could someone enlighten me on this?

Appreciate any help or suggestions you can offer...

I personally ride my sled alot at 800-1000ft as much or more than I ride at 6-7000ft. I normally target for 7400rpm with the stock setup and it's right on the money around 7200rpm when I go to the mountains. I like a little overrev of 200rpm of my set clutching for heavy loads in snow on the soft deep, or setup heavy days of sledding and have had great results.

I personally run 90PSI up front on my floats and kept the rear skid as setup from factory until I added the SLP pipe and BDX intake. Then all I did was suck up the limiter strap one notch from fully extended because I was getting too much ski lift at the top of hard climbs.

I had bad trenching issues until I went with the Simmons Gen I skis. I believe the stock skis were overworking the Challenger track. Felt like a whole new track after that setup and I really enjoy my sled in the deep since then, completely changed.

I have 1300miles on this setup, no plans on touching the suspension this year, just tuning of my pipe and playing with different cans.

I have the gen1 simmons already, "thing" silencer, timbersled intake, lightened hood, rear axle, boss seat, etc,etc... Just trying to make sure I am getting the most out of the old girl. Wish I had more days out west to play and test, but we usually end up just riding what we brung because the days are at a premium. Have no real issues with the machine, does everything well, but seems a little more challanging to ride than my buddies summits. Thought it may just be my setup as I am still trying to get a handle on mountain/deep snow setup. I looked for a thread on setup, but you can find drag, cross-country,grass, ice ashphalt etc, but I didnt really find anything on deep snow or climbing really.
