06 rt 1000 runnin like crap

It might be a belt I will get a new one but it might not be the problem...on a climb only pulling 6000 the exhaust flanges and the front of the motor is covered with blackoil fouled out some plugs this winter but the ones in it seem to be fine...

Sounds like the RAVE's aren't opening up. Check the relays or just remove the belt, rev the motor, and watch to see if they are moving.

I got into the fuse box and switched the relays one place around and felt no change.....

The RAVE's are the exhaust valves that are cable driven by an actuator on the left side of the motor. The actuator is mounted above the motor and is a black box (2" x 4") with 2 cables coming out of it. Pull the belt, start the motor, and then rev it and watch the cables to see if they are moving. If not, then the RAVE relay is shot and needs replaced.

the relays are 12 bucks each. replace them for the sake of it. twist the rave pulley under the e-rave cover where the cables connect. see if it moves freely and smoothly. its a really simple system to take apart and clean. you might try that. is your check engine light on by chance? check the fuse in the #7 position. if it is blown check your grip heater wires at the grips for a short.

relays are like 30 bucks here... I will do all of those and see what happens... no engine light on at all..

go to the auto parts store to get the relays. theyre a basic 30 or 50 amp relay. if youre not getting a check engine light its probably not the secondary load circuit but check that fuse anyway.

tried auto relays and they dont work.... started and the cables dont move at all in fact cant even move them by hand.

The sled wouldnt start earler this season and I went and got the relay from parts house and even though it said it was same it wouldnt run without the skidoo one.

Should I take the rave apart?? there is "oil" all over the front of the motor
is the rave some sort of exhaust valve/??
