06 RMK 700 Midrange Stumble

I have midrange stumble/ flat spot starts around 4800 - 5000rpm and goes away about 5800 - 6000rpm. It has always been there it didnt just show up. I was curious if anyone else has this problem or has encountered it and fixed it. Its stock except for an SLP can. I did replace the fuel filter recently but it didnt help. Sled has 1600 miles on it. Thanks in advance.

A couple of us on here are having the exact same problem and can't figure it out. I have adjusted the tps and now it only happens sometimes, i might try a new sensor?!

Update

I just rode the sled and paid a little closer attention it seems the bog starts about 4000rpm and stops around 6000 to 6500rpm. Seems like it idles fine and runs good at WOT everything inbetween seems to run like crap.

hey guys...read the first 1-3 pages of threads on here..there are ALOT that have the same issue...

if it were MY sled, i would do this personally...at a minimum, then if its still there...go from there..

--set TPS
--replace TPS harness with new updated harness or make your own p/n# P/N 2203165
--clean exhuast valves
--replace exhuast valve bellows (orange diaphrams) if there are ANY holes/tears in them
--bypass the exhuast solenoid all together and plug the hoses right off the exhuast valve and ride it
--cheak your exhaust system for any leaks...from your y-pipe gaskets fwd
--replace your plugs and gap them to .028"
--could be a fuel pump or pump wiring issue as well

good luck

I have a 05 900 that just started doing the same thing, after I changed the fuel filter. I did the top end about 500 miles ago, cleaned ex valves, set TPS, checked for dead spots in the sensor, changed exhaust donut gasket, did it all 500 miles ago. sled ran great till last ride. just before I went up I pulled the fuel filter off and changed it. the old filter was so pluged I cant beleive it ran (cant blow through it) it had 3500 miles on that filter (Opps)

now that I changed it, it runs like crap between 4000-6000 rpm but idles great and goes down the trail at a steady speed till you get on it and it stumbles like crazy then clears up at WOT and pulls hard. so my thereoy is was it leaning it out with the old plugged filter and now it is getting to much gas at mid range? I thought changing the filter would help it not hurt it lol..... just my 2 cents. I think I might change the filter back and see if it runs smoother in the mid! if so I might be looking for a fuel controler or something like a pair of vice-grips to restrict the fuel line lol. any one know what the fuel pressure should be on these engines. is the 700 and the 900 the same? I know the 06 has way higher fuel pressure because of the 4 injectors compared to the 2 in the 05!

I forgot to say that it only stumbles from the bottom of the hill (3000 feet) to about 5000-5500 feet, then runs great at the top and then stumbles when comming back down under 5500-5000 feet. dam gremlins lol
