My speedo quit working so I put a new one on it. It now says "PAUSE" and all the idiot lights are on every time I start the sled. As soon as I start to move the track, the speedo message and lights clear and it works fine (like normal). I swapped the speed sensor with a known good one off another sled of mine, but it still does it. Any ideas what is going on?

Usually that's what it says if you hold the button down for a few seconds.

Okay. When the "PAUSE" message is up, it seems that you have to press the speedo button and it brings up some sort of a selection menu that scrolls through (0-0, 9-0, etc.). If you press the button again it takes the selection and then operates as normal from then on. I wish I knew what the selection menu was asking for...maybe gearing??? Wouldn't you think that the new factory speedo I bought would come with a set-up instruction sheet telling you how to set it - it didn't. I also did not see the anything about this in the factory service manual. Oh well, it works fine now. Thanks.

It's asking what size dirvers you have. If you have an 06 X then you have 9 tooth drivers.
If you have a non-X then you have 10 tooth drivers.
If you have a non-X then you have 10 tooth drivers.
Great question--I just put a factory tach on my '04 and it does the exact same thing until you rotate the track and all is OK. I just figured it was calibrating itself?????
