06 m7

Hi, my dad just bought me an 06 M7 and i am 13 years old and have been riding since i was 4 but i was wondering what all you guys think of them? Ive heard some good things and ive heard some bad, could you tell me the advantages and the set backs of them? thanks

They are awsome sleds they only need a little clutch work and they will keep up with all the 800s also the best sled is the one some one elses buys for you thanx DAD

yeah i kno! i have been asking for an m7 this year like everyday and when i saw that thing i just about crapped myself!haha... plus to top it off it has a powerclaw track and i was so happy!

That was my first MT. sled, never get rid of it either.

As said above with a little clutch work you will hang with the 8's. The power claw will make it just that much better. I really cant say anything bad about it. Very dependable for me. Have fun!!

i love mine, i went from a 2000 yamaha MM and in a day i was already used to the m7, its very easy to ride, my sled was actually amber holts sled so it was all set up perfect for me, im sure you will be in love with it:)

When I got mine I was leary coming off an 800 but could not be happier, excellent sled and tons of potential. You asked about the good and bad
The good
light, manuverable, solid chassis, good power, lots of aftermarket support, good platform to build off of.
The bad
Too high geared, large turning radius, not the best suspention for the road riding.
All in all a great sled!!

I too recently got an '06 M7. I am good friends and ride a lot with both of the previous owners and they both absolutely love it! I've got two rides on it so far, and its a great sled. I'm coming off a 98 700 RMK, and the M7 is very impressive.

I completely agree with bigjb, the turning circle is pretty horrendous comparend to my old RMK.

Another cool thing, is that since it doesn't have Fox Floats, (but rather, Zero Pros with adjustable springs) you can tweak the front suspension whenever you see fit when you're out riding.

If you're a tall kid (I was about 6' 2" when I was 13) you may want to get some handlebar risers. If mine didn't have the 2" risers I'd get 3" risers, (I'm abotu 6' 3" now).

Just go out and enjoy your new sled., I've been enjoying mine so far!

I had an 06 m7. Sold it to buy this m1000. I should have kept it and have thought of buying one for a backup sled. Not that the m1000 is a bad sled but I enjoyed every minute of the M7. You will too:D

I'm 14 and have an M6 that has an M7 top end (which according to most people outperforms most M7s) and it is completely AWESOME! I sometimes have trouble holding on to tell you the truth. I'm going to be going for my first mountain ride tomorrow or Wednesday with it, hope you love yours as much as I love mine!

i am 4' 10" and 105 pounds but it sounds like theyre great! i cant wait til we go to the mountains, i can already tell its going to be way better than my old 440 sno pro.

M6 with an M7 top end. Is yours EFI? My mother rides an 06 m6 EFI. I'm wondering what is needed to do this other than just Pistons, cylinders and the head? Do you need an m7 pipe, y-pipe ECT And what if any changes to the efi system?
Thanks,
MB

i kno i will love it!! are they pretty good on the climbing? what about in 4 ft of powder? my dad as an m1000 with a turbo and modded up with about 267 horses and tht thing ripps! i just hope this will do half as good as tht thing

Thats a really good sled you got there. Im 16 so we are kinda close in age. I thought the same thing when I bought my 05 m7......would this thing climb like the 1000's? Besides the straight up shoots, if you learn how to ride that beast it will take you everywhere you want to go. Especially how light you are, that m7 will go anywhere. And if you want to make it look cool take the decals off and put some cool lookin stickers on it......that should add an extra 30 horse power :D. And a couple other things you could do=

Side panel vents
bar riser
2010 seat/boss seat
ski loops on the front of the skis to match the color of your sled (orange/green)
RKT head
lightweight can.....and sinse your young you probley want it to sound good. (jaws or super q sound great)
09 snow flap/tail light
polish up your tunnel
snow eliminators
powerclaw track
inside wheel kit
aluminum polished idler wheels
handgaurds

as far as the truning radius you can grind the stoper on the spindle and it help alot grind a little at a time until it is maxed out
