06 M7 vs. 07 700 Dragon

Ok, I have looked at many other posts here, I am looking at opinions on these two machines for my wife. For starters, she needs electric start. She is a good rider but has a hard time starting the big motor sleds. She loves the boon-docking and some trail riding. She can and will hill climb when the situation is required to follow us, but it is not here favorite. She currently rides an 06 700 RMK, and yes I have had to do all the mods to make it a fare sled. I am just trying to find something a little newer and more user friendly for her. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for opinions and help.

Both are good sleds. The Polaris has reverse, wich may come in handy for your wife. I also think the IQ chassis is better on the trail only, as compared to the M series.

Pro's for the dragon are reverse, better trail ride and might be eaiser to find a used one in good shape.

Pro's for the M7 lighter, should be a little cheaper.

They are both good sleds I had a 07 700 dragon that I was going to ride for a year and then give it to my wife but she couldn't ride it(over rode the sled and kept tipping over lol) but your wife is already use to the IQ chassie so not a big deal for your wife. I have a 09 M8 now she loves it so I'm going to be looking for a deal on a 2010 m8. I think I comes down to what you can find in good shape at a good price, but for me the reverse is a big deal.

Mine loves her M7 even though it doesn't have reverse. She has been on the M8 but says it feels heavier. She insists I don't change a thing with her sled.

I have an M-8 and the M-7 The M-7 is so light you can put it anywhere and you don’t need Electric start it’s so easy to start, it starts on the second pull even when cold. I rode my M08 But I really love my M-7 Great sled.

I have an 06 M7 and my buddy has a 08 700 Dragon. Both are very comparable sleds and will do the trick. The only thing he's got on me is a little better handling on the trail and reverse. There are times I am cussing endlessly wishing I had reverse. Once in the powder, they both are pretty similar in power, weight, handling, and maneuverability.

M7 or D7

The D7 will be better on the trail and in a track

The M7 will be better in the powder and making her own track

My wife needs to upgrade to a newer sled, If we do, I like the M

I've got an M7 and new M8, I really like my M7. Been looking for a sted for my son and I also looked at the 07 700 Dragon. Only question I have is, why do so many of the 700 Dragons have "New" factory warranty motors? I thought the 800 was the one with the problems! Very nice sleds but that motor scares me!

I bought my wife a 06 m7 last year and she loves it. It doesn't have electric start but she doesn't have a problem starting it. It will usually always start the first or second pull.

Thats weird:confused: The 800 is the one with the problem. The 700 has a wicked track record! I never had any problems with mine at all:beer;
