04 rmk 800 bog

I just bought an 04 800 and I was riding it around the yard and noticed it had a bog whenever I start. After it gets going it runs good. I'm not sure how old the gas is and I was planning on cleaning the carbs but I wondered if there is something I should be looking for.
Thanks!

not sure if this makes a difference or not but the sled has SLP y pipe, pipe, and can, slp cold air intake, and slp recommended clutching updates. I also noticed a little bit of oil on the front of the motor. I cleaned it off and ran it for a while but no more oil has appeared. very new to polaris motors in general.
Thanks again

I'd get fresh gas in it and try again. Some maintenance: replace the plugs (first try my dad's spark plug "float test" if you're trying to save a buck: place the spark plug in a container of water, if it sinks replace it:light:), clean the clutches & belt with hot soapy water, make sure the primary clutch spring isn't broken, clean the VES valves & check that the bellows aren't torn.

The oil on the front of the motor is likely from an exhaust leak. Pull the pipe, clean the pipe, grafoil seal, and y-pipe sealing surfaces, apply some Permatex ultra black (high temp silicone), reassemble and allow to dry. Should prevent any leakage for a while.

Also, it could be lean on the idle circuit. It's probably jetted for the previous owner's riding altitude and you're likely lower. You could try turning the air screw in a touch or the fuel screw (one on each carb, with white cap for finger adjustments) out a little bit.
