I had one of these and it was a great running sled. it would go anywhere my 900 would go except for up the big hills. It wil go in the deep powder just fine and will be enjoyable for boondocking.....just not as fast or as high but very reliable and fun to ride.
had a buddy who had one of these, never had any problems...did great in deep snow, climbed ok, it was a decent mountain sled. We always had fun with it.
We had one,great all around sled,just hard on fuel .

Have 2 of em. Well they are 04's, but the same thing. Love em!!! Handle great, fairly good in the hills and pow. No himarker for sure, but they are very reliable. Upgrading next yr I hope.

you can put twin pipes on them and you have to be carefule is yours a efi if it is it limits you a little you dont want to burn your motor
I had a 04 and it did good in teh deep. I sometimes miss it it was a fun sled. Not much around for engine mods. Mine was hard on belts i wonder if some vents to cool off the clutches would have helped. A riser is always a good thing to add if you are taller. 2 wheel kit would be a cheap mod also. To help with side hilling and keeping snow out of the skid.
Not sure where "arctic sledder" got the twin pipes unless they are for the 98-2000 chassis. I don't think anybody currently builds twins for it. We have three in our group. The gals love them. We put on cans, 2" riser blocks, temp guages, 151x2 on two of them and 153x2.25 on one which will fit under the existing tunnel. I am currently doing a 162x2.25 on another one with a 12% gear reduction. I think it will do just fine.
Good sleds, I know my wife doesn't want to step up to an Mseries, likes her 600 a lot. I will end up with 2 of them, a 151 and a 162, so she will have her choice.

Got the 1M 04 600 162 together and running. Wife has ridden it 3 times and loves it. Really works good. We ran highmarks on all 3 600's the 162 consistantly set the highmark. She gets stuck a lot less often. Thinking about building another one.
