For those of you who are running the Raptor shock package on the Pro RMK, I’ve got a couple questions. I did a search but came up a little short, so here goes.
I picked up a set of Raptors and I’m wondering what some of you guys are running for set-ups along with your weight and riding style and conditions. Also what springs you might be running would be helpful as well (standard or firm).
It would be nice to have a good starting point instead of just the general “start here” position.
The sled is a 163 and I’m 6 foot and about 235 without gear. So add in boots, avy pack, bibs, coat, helmet and tunnel bag on top of that. I have both Raptor rear springs, the standard and the firm, so I can switch out either way there.
I spoke with Jake at Raptor and he suggested just starting with their regular starting point but I thought I would see what has been working for some of you guys. I would also be interesting to see what did NOT work out so well, so we can have a running log of pros and cons with different set-ups.
Jake also suggested that if I were to stay with the stock RMK Walker Evans shocks and want to upgrade just springs, then with my height /weight combo, the “firm” spring would be the way to go. Now, if I were to upgrade to a complete set of Raptors, then he suggested to start out with the “standard” rear spring.
