What are the opinions out there on the Speedwerx Tunnel dump on the 2010 M8? Any power loss? Does it completely remove any right side bogging?

Thanks

I cut one in my origional tunnel and have now just done it again in my Fabcraft tunnel. Its actually two holes, you have to put one in you bulkhead too!!!
I have the Black Diamond airbox and it was bogging real bad in the deep powder.
Since putting on the tunnel dump I have not bogged at all.
Its no big deal, its a hole you can't even see.It is a well built system, when it is all put together you could almost pick the sled up by the can.

i did then tunnel dump on my 09 m1000 last year and it is a completely new sled! i could sidehill on the right in deep snow at 2 mph and it wouldnt even think about bogging. these people act like you are a cutting a ten inch hole in the middle of the hood or somethin. its two very discreet holes that i never even notice unless i'm showing someone the tunnel dump routing. best mod i've done to my snowmobile hands down

so the tunnel and the bulkhead have absolutely nothing to do with structural integrity?:face-icon-small-con I bet you could cut like 8 more pounds of material out of there before the sled folds up like origami

I have a lot of hard miles on my tunnel dump, broken ski's, rails, a-arms, and handlebars, the holes are in a location that is a non issue.

I absolutely love the performance, never loads up or bogs.

Anyone running one on a 2010? I am curious to performance with the changes to the 2010 motor.

Thanks

I never heard or saw a problem with right side bog on an m8. The Tunnel dump was a solution for bog issues with the M1000, as I was told it was super sensitive to back pressure issues. You can put one on an M8, it won't hurt anything, and be sure there will never be a bog issue, but there never really was with the M8 anyway.

i agree..i have the jaws can on now...but i can;t recall ever having one issue with a righthand bog on my 07/m8

My 2010 M8 162 std has a bad bog in deep pow, esp on the right side.

hmm, gotta wonder, I had 2008, 2009, 2010 M8 sleds and none had any bogs except on those rare days of over the windshield super fluff that plugged both intakes, didn't matter what direction I was going when that happened, but a simple brush off with the left hand fixed that problem

Well maybe a tunnel dump would help your issues. I saw some 09 and 10 m8's with them, they sure wouldn't hurt, but those were turbo's too. There just seems to be more options for performance pipe kits like the SLP set up that I would go to first on an m8.

Got one on a 09 m1000 best money i ever spendt. The deep powder days are a blast now no bogging. :face-icon-small-ton:face-icon-small-ton

never had a bog issue, other then the one coming out of the hole everyonce and awhile. but couple blips and she clears right up, more clutching. as far as a right hand side bog, 5 feet of fresh -5 c pow and no bog. just keep it to the bar and the exhaust will find its way out

Not with the Black Diamond Air box it would stall,at least on my M1000 it would.

Yeah, ran in a lot of deep pow last season. A few other M8's I rode with claimed no problem. I know the 2009 model claimed no problem in the same snow.

Sent the ECU to dealer to check the fuel mapping to see if it is correct.

M8's and M1000's are different animals when it comes to exhaust bog. From what i've seen it doesn't take much to cause the back pressure issues on an M1000, try powder turns to the right in 1 foot of fresh. 3+ foot, over the hood, deep days are another deal completely with your intake getting blocked.

edit: if i dont have anything nice to say, dont say it at all
