Polaris Industries, Inc., has filed a complaint in U.S. Distric Court against Timbersled employee-turned-competitor Allen Mangum, alleging theft of intellectual property and trade secrets used in Timbersled snowbike conversion kits.
The article that broke this news in the Star Tribune states that Polaris learned of Mangum's new venture through a YouTube video on SnoWest Magazine's channel in which, Mangum talks about his new business and Mtn Top snowbike kit.
Mangum invented the original Timbersled snowbike system, then sold Timbersled to Polaris Industries, Inc. Mangum then worked for Polaris and Timbersled until spring of 2020.
The article states that through the YouTube video, Polaris determined that Mangum "made use of Polaris' confidential information, know-how, and/or trade secrets."
