In the pursuit of winter safety, KLIM has announced an all-new floatation jacket, the Rift, delivering float assistance for any snowmobile rider facing the risk of partially frozen water. The Rift Jacket is the first GORE-TEX floatation assist jacket in the world and doesn’t require float bibs to work correctly, cementing KLIM’s position at the forefront of snow powersports innovation.
Ascent Float System (AFS) is the key feature in the new Rift Jacket, delivering full floatation capabilities without needing additional floatation bibs to work. AFS is single-layer, perforated, closed-cell foam that’s channeled and oriented throughout the jacket to allow for mobility, breathability and overall comfort. It won’t absorb moisture and won’t trap sweat, either. The soft, flexible material also adds significant warmth in addition to the 3M™ Thinsulate™ Insulation, giving the Rift 240g of total body insulation.
None of KLIM’s insulated snowmobile gear sinks quickly – a common misconception for thick winter clothing – and the new Rift Jacket floats even higher and for longer than the regular jackets. This significant floatation effect makes it easier to escape the cold water, and if cold incapacitation sets in, the jacket will help keep you higher in the water where rescuers can reach you more easily.
Mesh sleeve cuffs and bottom hem allow for rapid water draining to aid in exiting the water, reducing the water weight held in your jacket.
Traditional KLIM trail snowmobile gear features such as 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material, a triple front placket, pockets, vents and various adjustment features round out the Rift as a no-compromises jacket for dedicated riders. KLIM is also offering the new Rift Jacket in XS sizing for female riders.
The new Rift Jacket will be available starting in August 2020.
