At one time or another, experienced snowmobilers will face the challenge of teaching someone how to ride. Sometimes that new rider is a child, or a friend that is intrigued with the thought of playing in the snow as an adult. Or, it may be your wife or boyfriend who finally becomes interested in riding after watching the positive effects snowmobiling has had on you.
However, just because you ride doesn’t mean you are up to teaching others. Many riders feel the pressure to make sure a new rider has a good time, but after sledding for many years the prep and skills have become second nature to you and an experienced rider may not be sure what they need to impart to a beginner. We polled our test riders, who not only have vast riding experience, but have taught many people their tips for teaching a greenhorn rider to be safe and proficient.
