Each sled’s range varies depending on the type of riding and conditions, but Taiga says for the average trail rider running 60 km/h (37.2 mph) you can expect a range of 100 km (62.1 miles). However, there will be extended range models with additional battery capacity. Charging the sled can take place with a regular household outlet (10 hours), an installed Level 2 Charger (2 Hours), or an optional Level 3 – DC Fast Charging unit (20 minutes). Top speeds range from 68 mph to 100 mph depending on the model and gear reduction.
As more riding land is lost every year to environmental concerns and objections of noise pollution, this technology could move the industry toward a greener future, and the ability to ride in more areas. These sleds also boast a zero-maintenance powertrain, which equates to an estimated savings of $2,500 a year on fuel, oil changes, and CVT belt or engine maintenance.
