3. Wearing The Avy Airbag
Avalanche airbag packs come in two styles: traditional backpack or zippered tek-vest.
If you have the backpack style, make sure you have the shoulder straps fairly tight, the chest tie strap connected, the waist strap securely buckled and the leg loop around your leg.
Avalanches can be violent. The backpack can be ripped from your body if it's not secured the way it's designed.
Speaking of which, the tek-vest style avy airbags are great for body protection. They weight a little more than the backpack style, but they offer body armor and are more securely attached to your body.
