Some of us snowmobilers are getting a little old to be dragging our sleds out of the deep holes we create in the mountains. That’s why it’s important to be training, inspiring and recruiting a new generation of mountain riders … our future riding buddies who will have the strength and energy to do the heavy lifting.
Cody is a 12-year-old snowmobiling enthusiast who is starting to figure out the nuances of deep powder riding. To him, getting stuck is still part of the adventure.
Although we have to alter our riding style a little when we take the youth on rides, they tend to catch on fast and are always looking to take the next step in their educational process. And in a couple of years, Cody will be big enough and strong enough to pull on my skis when I’m buried in a hole.
