POWER
1) Ski-Doo. The 850 seems to be the perfect size in balancing power-to-weight. Its power is very linear so it doesn’t jump out from under you and fizzle out, but rather starts strong andbuilds stronger.
2) Arctic Cat. We’re not sure if it has as much to do with actual horsepower as it does with strong track hookup. But on the bottom and the midrange the 800 Cat just explodes out of the hole.
3) Polaris. Last is definitely not least. The Pro-RMK isn’t short on power by any means. It just doesn’t over-impress you.
SEAT
1) Polaris. It sits 35 inches from the ground and you have about 30 inches from the foot well to the back of the sitting area. It’s tall, making it easy to stay on top of your snowmobile … and not so long as to interfere with your legs crossing from side to side.
2) Ski-Doo. Its numbers are 34 by 32, making it slightly shorter and longer. It is the most comfortable seat for riding
down the trail but can be slightly cumbersome when going side-to-side on the sled.
3) Arctic Cat. At 33 by 28 it is the shortest seat which means you sit lower and sometimes off the back end. However, if your riding style tends to plant a knee in the middle of the seat for balance, it is the best of the bunch.
