Arctic Cat M 8000 Sno Pro ‘Just Right’

Finding the perfect snowmobile for 2018

Published in the February 2018 Issue August 2018 Feature Steve Janes

First, just like the other M 8000s, the Sno Pro touts all the exciting changes for 2018 that make this Cat very competitive on the mountains.

Perhaps the most likely place to begin is with the new 794cc two-cylinder engine that replaces the Suzuki 800. Although the Suzuki was bulletproof with plenty of power, the new C-Tec2 794cc engine (manufactured in Cat’s St. Cloud, MN, facility) features 160 horsepower and a user-friendly power curve.

Where the old Suzuki engine hit hard on the bottom and raced to peak rpm, the new C-Tec2 794cc engine has a much smoother powerband. It won’t jump out from under you, leaving you off balance or out of control. It is quick, clean and smooth in both acceleration and deceleration.
