As with all M 8000s, the Sno Pro features Dual-Stage Injection, slotted pistons and electronic oil metering. It’s cleaner than the 2017 because it uses less oil (up to 30 percent) while providing an 18 percent increase in torque in the mid-range (at less than 6,000 rpm).
The electronic oil pump provides for cleaner emissions because the mechanical pump would tend to run rich. The electronic pump reads the rpm/throttle position and is linked to the fuel control/barometric pressure. So it’s going to deliver the exact amount of oil required at any exact moment. The electronic oil pump also means a lighter throttle pull and no system maintenance. Also, a sealed center gear cavity in the crankcase helps reduce oil consumption and the visual smoke at start up.
