When the RMK came around, it was based off the best features of the SKS. But it simply placed overall weight as a higher priority than mountain trail performance. This didn’t mean it ignored how the RMK handled the bumps, but merely if it came down to shedding a few pounds for a lighter suspension, that would be an acceptable tradeoff.
If you were to put the spec sheet of the Polaris 800 SKS 155 next to the Polaris 800 Pro RMK 155, you would be shocked to see these two sleds have much more in common than differences.
Yes, they both feature a liquid-cooled 800cc powerplant with CleanFire 3D ignition and CleanFire Injection. Both have the single 3 Stage VES with Smart Actuator exhaust. Both have the P-85 and Team LWT clutches.
