All snowmobile engines are manufactured in the Rotax factory in Gunskirchen and Rotax has an impressive operation indeed. Engine components for Sea-Doo watercraft and Can-Am side-by-sides, ATVs and Spyders are made in Austria and then shipped to BRP’s facility in Queretano, Mexico, where they are assembled. Rotax, which is the sole supplier of all BRP powersports engines since it was acquired by BRP in 1970, employs 1,150 employees at its Gunskirchen facility and had revenues of $720 million USD for fiscal year 2017.
Rotax is close to celebrating its 100th anniversary, with the company started in 1920. The promises to be quite a celebration.
Stay tuned for more to come.
