Ski-Doo Freeride 154 For Jumps, Bumps

Published in the December 2017 Issue August 2018 Feature Steve Janes

Although the 154 S-38 comes with the 2.5-inch PowderMax Light track with FlexEdge, the standard Freeride 154 offers an option of either the 2.5-inch PowderMax Light or the 3-inch PowderMax Light with FlexEdge track.

And just because the Freeride 154 is based off the Summit, the Freeride certainly doesn’t ride like a Summit on the trails. It soaks up the bumps much better than a Summit. It rides flatter in the corners due the premium suspension package that eliminates front-end roll.

When Ski-Doo engineers put the Freeride on the Gen4 platform with the 850 E-Tec engine, they created a snowmobile whose limitations fell solely on rider ability. It’s no longer a matter as to whether the snowmobile was capable … but rather if the rider had the guts and ability to pick the line and hold it.
