Q: I have a brand new 2017 Polaris 800 Rush XCR that seems down on power. At first I thought the engine just might need some break-in time, but after 600+ miles, my top end speed and rpms seem down. I should be able to get more than 88 mph out of this machine. I’ve owned several other versions of their 800 H.O. engine, and those sleds were absolute rippers! Am I missing something? – sticksandstones247

A: The answer may lie in your dash display. It’s highly unlikely you’d have a mechanical failure in just 600 miles, and you didn’t mention anything of that nature, so we’ll assume the rest of the engine performance is OK. Double-check that you have the correct fuel setting on your display. If that setting is incorrect (i.e., using non-ethanol fuel when the sled is on the “ethanol fuel” setting, or vice versa), then you will experience a slight loss of power. – Experts
