The USXC Racing season went out with a bang. Pinehurst Resort and the Naytahwaush Nightriders played host to 180-plus entries on beautiful North Twin Lake.
Terrific weather and a fast 10-mile Lemans course made for some great side-by-side racing over two days. The Pro Stock final was won by Chad Lian on a super fast Arctic Cat. It was Chad's first Pro win in 11 years of racing plus the first ever pro class win for a 4-stroke powered snowmobile.
The ever-present Polaris of Canadian driver Aaron Christensen was a close second. Zach Herfindahl who has won the previous six USXC Pro Stock finals came in third. Ryan Trout, the winner of Semi Pro, was offered the chance to start last behind 18 Pro riders and he made the most of it, passing all but the top three, ending up fourth. Veteran Pro rider Gabe Bunke rounded out the top five on his fast Polaris. The Semi Pro final was the best race of the day as Ski-Doo's Craig Ritzinger and Arctic Cat’s Ryan Trout battled side by side for 60 miles. Trout passed Ritzinger 20 feet from the finish line winning by two feet.
